shipping help please
who do i go to fedx or ebay i sent a item less thAN 4 lb and they wrote it ws 14 lb so getting charge 4 times the amout so just need to know who will i camplain too ( another reason why i stick to usp as i always do but trying to save $2 so if you know who let me know even tho i think it will be fed x

·3 years agoNot much detail but both FedEx and UPS are infamous for unilateral charges. Where/how did you obtain the level? You indicate FedEx "wrote" that it was 14 pounds how did they do that? Did you buy the label through eBay or through some other shipping label service?

·3 years agoAll carriers (FedEx, UPS, and USPS) charge postage not only by package weight but also by package dimensions. If your package was large, it might have had a dimensional weight of 14 pounds. How big was the package, and did you enter accurate package dimensions when you purchased the label?

OP3 years agosure did they left that part alone but added 10 lb to it when it only two empty buckets which i sent maNY TIMe but tru ups trying fedx and look what happen so ? was fedx or ebaY thank

If you originally paid $16 for the label when you purchased it through eBay and the dimensions were correct the unilateral charge would have been added by FedEx after the package was shipped. For the two buckets you shipped if they were stacked inside each other based on your posting information the package was about 16" x 12" x 12". Not sure where the items shipped to but you are somewhat centrally located in Chicago so the zone rate probably would not have been that much different.
Looking at Pirate Ship who's rates are pretty close to eBay's the rate for USPS Parcel Select Ground would have been about $14-$16, depending on how you shipped, from Chicago to my location in Virginia.
Unlike the USPS rates the shipping rates shown in eBay for UPS and FedEx are estimates and do not factor in surcharges which you get hit with later. Following is a list of all the surcharges for FedEx in 2023. UPS has a similar list.
