Shipping from Sweden - only U.S options available
Hey, I'm a new seller from Sweden, and I listed my first item a week ago - the problem I ran into is that I could only choose postal options such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS when I entered the international shipping .
I'm pretty sure there is no USPS service here in Sweden, and the UPS and FedEx shipping prices were ridiculous (over 100 dollars and more).
I'm aware that this is because I'm using ebay.com, but how I do put in the postal service of my country (postnord)?
Also, for some reason, I couldn't pick 'free shipping' for international shipping (the option wasn't available).
I've also run into the issue that if I want to find out the cost for international shipping via my postal service (Postnord), then I must know the postal code (adress) of the country I'm sending to.
All in all, the shipping part has been a huge mess.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

im in the same issue. Tradera is the only site but then you are limited to some countries in the EU. Which is crazy considering its actually owned by Ebay.
Ive tried to get a straight answer on this from ebay as to why. As this was raised as an issue 10 years ago!
but anyway go to ebay in Germany mate. It's more realistic in shipping policies as its based in Europe. just translate the page always on your web browser.
I would like the moderators to try and escalate this issue or even give us an answer as to why they have not integrated into the nordics.

If anyone stumbles upon this thread and you live in Sweden, this is basically what I did:
-I went to postnords website (swedish postal system) and looked at the prices for shipping internationally, the prices are based on weight as Ulfesharpe pointed out. https://www.postnord.se/privat/priser-och-villkor/portotabeller/portotabell-paket/
- I didn't charge for shipping, instead I added the shipping cost to the item - so shipping a package that weighs max 1kg to other countries costs 300sek, I originally charged my item for 600sek, so added, the item now costs 900sek now. (thanks @ulfesharpe )
-For domestic shipping I chose 'outside U.S.' (I didn't see the option at first, but once you search for it it's there). Then I chose standard shipping and checked the box for free shipping. (thank you @pjcdn2005 )
-For international shipping I chose standard international shipping and put in 0.00 so it's free. (thanks again @pjcdn2005 ).
A little confusing for a beginner like me but I managed at last.

·2 years agoI never did this myself because I ship for free — I incorporate the shipping cost in the price of the item — but you probably need to change the shipping policy to Flat Rate + Standard Shipping and use a shipping rate table (other options don't let you use your tables). Leave price option empty and then click below to apply "shipping rate tables". You will need to create them.
 
 
I think you will find that shipping abroad costs almost the same for every location outside of Europe — prices usually vary on the weight not the distance (within standard shipping). Not sure what sort of options are inside "apply shipping rate table", I never used it. Postal services websites usually have a page with shipping rates, you can use those for reference probably, then correct them if necessary.
Edit: by the way, when you select flat rate you will be ably to select general shipping options (like Standard Shipping or Expedited Shipping), not just shipping options attached to American postal services.

·2 years agoWhen you list on .com the domestic shipping is always for shipping to the US regardless of your location.
When choosing the service on the listing page you would choose the generic shipping ‘from outside of the US’. That will be more accurate than using a US service and will give a longer estimated delivery time. You will need to use a flat rate based on what the Swedish postal system will be charging you. Right now you show free shipping to the US.
All other locations will go under the international shipping section. You should use one of the generic options — economy, standard or expedited international shopping. There is no way to set a price up for each country although you can sort of break it into regions such as using economy shipping for Asia, expedited shipping for Europe. If you want to have international free shipping you would enter 0.00 in the buyer pays box.

Do you mean I should charge the same amount as I have to pay to ship the package to the other countries?
The problem is what I have to pay to ship the item to them (the buyer) will vary according to country to country, there is no set amount.
Should I just add a random price? Obviously doesn't sound like a good option.

·2 years agoIt’s up to you to figure out the correct amount to ship an item. Whatever you do, do not just put in a random amount. Once the item sells you can not charge your buyer more money for shipping.

·2 years agoThat statement was based on your shipping rate to the US, (domestic shipping on .com) that should just be one rate.
For other countries there is no way to be totally accurate in the shipping cost. As I said in my other post you can average it out based on regions such as Europe & Asia but ebay isn’t set up well for international sellers to specify a shipping cost for each country.

·2 years agoHi you are on the US ebay website. You will find only those services that reflect in the US. You might want to seek the local branch of ebay closer to Sweden for local options to appear. There should be several such sites across the EU.
