Shipping First class large envelope

But ebay doesn't offer me that option for buying a label. Instructions for using ebay standard envelopes tell me to pick options that don't exist on the shipping screen. My item is a flat paper pamphlet that fits into the large envelope category. Any ideas?

·1 week ago · EditedYou can only buy ESE labels for letter sized mail (under 6 1/8" x 11 1/2" x 1/4" and 3 oz or less and the item must be in an approved ESE category path. You can't buy ESE labels for envelopes larger than that (some of us have tried to get eBay to offer it, without any luck.)
A pamphlet should fit into a regular letter envelope, but the category you listed the pamphlet in may not allow ESE, or your shipping dimensions are too large for letter mail, or weight is over 3oz; the shipping screen just grays out ESE with no on-screen explanation (not good UI design, but I digress). You could still ship it without tracking with a stamp. If it is less than $20, I'd just take a chance and send it in an envelope with a stamp, no need to light money on fire using costly GA for a 1-2oz pamphlet.

IF your concern is about listing in certain eBay categories and being denied the use of USPS First Class Letter/Large Envelope shipping:
I sell a lot of items that qualify for USPS FC. One of the reasons why I stopped using eBay's labeling/shipping services is their micro-managing the items/categories in which a seller can or cannot offer USPS First Class shipping, especially when getting a label.
I switched over to Stamps.com, where it is up to me to choose how items are shipped, not eBay. I've shipped thousands of items with USPS FC using Stamps.com, and have not had one hiccup. Because there is no tracking with FC, I've had to refund just a few of orders, but the cost savings more than makes up for the occasional INR loss or the minor monthly Stamps.com service fee.

·6 months agoFirst Class is untracked, not a package service, and labels can't be purchased through eBay even though you can use the service on items that physically qualify. If you're creating a listing:
When package dimensions entered on the listing form exceed eBay's programmed dimensions, eBay will not show you those shipping options when setting up your listing. To access these services, enter the following package dimensions:

·6 months agoFor standard envelope it also has to be in a category that has standard envelope enabled. I know the help pages like to make it seem like only certain items qualify, but the actual legal terms and condition of the program only care about the category the item is listed in, not what is in the envelope.

Why not do free shipping and add .78 cents to cost of item for sale.
I am assuming you aren't able to see it as a shipping option as to how it is shipped?

·6 months agoAre you trying to buy a label for the cross stitch kit you sold a couple days ago? That has to ship Priority since that's the service advertised on the listing.

·6 months agoNothing happens if they use a different service. While I list anything as priority anymore, as priority is essentially dead to ebay sellers now (light your money on fire if you use it) I freely change between ground advantage, UPS and Fed Ex every single day.

·6 months agoNothing happens unless the buyer complains. Downgrading service is grounds for a not as described claim.
I freely change between USPS and UPS too, BUT my listings are set up the way they're supposed to be: with an unspecified service either Economy or Standard, depending.
If you advertise USPS you should ship USPS. If you want the freedom to choose any carrier/service then the listing needs to advertise an unspecified service equivalent.
Even if I ship majority USPS Ground Adv (aka "standard') my listings advertise "economy" because it gives me the option of UPS Ground Saver.
Point being: if the seller does not plan to ship Priority they should not advertise Priority service.
