Shipping cost seems to be too low
I have a package 8x6x6 and 3.5 pounds. The cost to Minnesota from SC is $7.52 according to the cost when getting ready to print the shipping label. This $7.52 seems wrong. When I change the weight to 12 pounds it is still $7.52. For 20 pounds is it still $7.52. We don't want to under pay and have to pay more later. Anyone with this issue? This happened on another order earlier in the week and I went ahead and paid what Ebay label said for the size and weight. Thanks.

·8 months agoI'd like to have that problem, regularly! Except for possibly having to pay more later of course. 'Dimensional weight' should not be a factor, since it's under (well under) 1 cubic foot--and if it was over a cubic foot, that would usually increase the price substantially, about like increasing the weight to around 20 pounds usually would.
So I have no explanation for the figures you obtained, but as long as the label shows the correct weight and dimensions, I would not worry, and be glad for an apparent snafu that happened to work in my favor.

·8 months agoChange the weight to 21 pounds and the rate will go up or change the box size to 10 X 10 X 10 and the rate will go up.

OP8 months agoEbay may have recently changed the way they calculate shipping because changing the weight by a significant amount (add a pound or two, etc) always changed the shipping cost. As well as size.

·8 months agoeBay started offering cubic rates over 2 years ago. It's not new, even though it's new to you as you're just noticing. 🙂

·8 months agoYou're being charged a cubic rate for the size of your box, the algorithm picks the cheapest option. by weight or size, 7.52 is the lowest rate available.
If you go in there and change the box size the rate will go up, if you change the weight, after a certain point the rate might go up too.
I try to use the smallest box I can, I use a lot of 8x5x4 boxes to get the lowest rate.
