Shipping Cost incorrect? Help please
Hi,
I'm a new seller and haven't come across this potential issue before. When I just went to list an item, it said shipping was like $68- $150. I know that can't be correct. The item price is $40 and I don't ship outside the US.
I tried changing it, but I have no idea what the cost would be for this item. I saw what some others charged for shipping on the same item, I'm just afraid of being wrong. Anyways I listed it, and viewed the listing and now the shipping says $61 I think. I still think that's wrong , I don't know what to do.

·1 year agoI agree with others. I looked at your items and your shipping seems off on many of them. Maybe that's by design? One listing of 3 pennies ships for $3.00. Another 3-penny listing ships for $4.00. A listing with a single penny ships for $4.51.
I don't see the listing you asked about. Weigh your item and round up to the nearest pound. Then, add at least one maybe two pounds to that to account for the box and packing. If this is something breakable, you might add a 3rd pound to be sure. Then, measure the item and tack on at least 3 inches on all sides to account for packing material. Ideally you already know what you are shipping the item in so you won't have to estimate. Definitely get things as precise as you can so you do not lose money on the sale.

·1 year agoIt is probably due to the dimensions being over a cubic foot. Pull the item and do not relist it until you are confident that the shipping is correct and you understand how/why it costs so much. You could end up having a significant financial loss if the item sells with the wrong shipping and you are on the hook for the shortfall. Also bear in mind you will be paying FVF on the expensive shipping charged (12-15+%), make sure you factor that into the cost of your item.
Your shipping on some of your smaller items is also a bit off. You have Ground Advantage on some items for $2 or $3, GA now starts at almost $4 (plus you have to pay FVF on the $2 or $3 you are charging, so you will lose even more profit on those items of small value.)

·1 year agoThe item selling price has no bearing on the shipping cost but get the drift of what you are saying, $5 item with $XXX shipping. You could have a very lite or low cost item but large item that because of size could have a huge shipping cost.

·1 year agoI can't even guess at accurate ship costs here because your listing gives zero clue as to the size of that item. Is it 5" or 15" or 35"?
Regardless, shipping is based on a few factors - in the case of that framed piece it's based on package weight and dimensions + ship to location.
If you're seeing an inflated rate, then you are probably incurring surcharges due to size.
What are the package weight and dimensions you're using on that listing @therealcarley ?
