shipping cost adjustment
as a seller, i received a message from Ebay that UPS adjusted my shipping charges after I dropped off the package to be shipped, and my account was automatically deducted for the difference in shipping cost. UPS is reporting my package weighed 20 lbs, which is incorrect. my package weighed 2 lbs. big difference. obviously i don't have the package anymore to verify the weight. thoughts?

·7 months agoEither copy/paste all the text (delete personal info) or you should be able to send me the image in a message @hatgenie* and I'll post it for you. Copy/pasting the text will be enough to get the job done though.

·7 months agoIt may not be the weight; it may be the dimensions were off affecting 'billable weight'.
In order to help you determine if your charge was legit or in error (and how to appeal), view the label details and expand the section on the bottom right that says see cost breakdown (highlighted below in green). Black out order #, tracking #, and buyer ID and post a screenshot.
Please also provide a physical description of the package (box, bag, tube, box with handle, etc).

·6 months agoWrapping this up with an update: OP sent a screenshot and above initial response ^^ was correct. It appears OP entered dimensions printed on the box which are inner dimensions.
Since UPS rounds up, and the outer dimensions were fractions of an inch larger, UPS claimed larger dimensions by 1" on two sides, which impacted the billable weight (increasing from 17 lb to 20 lb) and resulted in a very small cost adjustment.
UPS did not adjust the actual 2 lb weight of the package, just the dimensions which affected billable weight.
