Shipping a coin
I have a couple hundred pennys that are worth up to five dollars per penny. I would like to sell them on eBay. But I am unsure if eBay's shipping policies will allow for it. Shipping a singled out penny is easy enough with a first class stamp stuck on a regular envelope. But I cannot seem to find this option. Is it possible to ship this way and abide by all of eBay's policies at the same time?

·11 months agoShip by ebay standard envelope, but make sure you don't just drop a penny in an envelope! It must be fixed in place so it can't slide around.

·11 months agoDo you put cardboard in with the coin? Seems like just a coin in an envelope would be pretty obvious cargo to a thief. And how would they know it's not a very valuable rare coin before they stole your envelope?
To the OP: The suggestion to lot up your pennies seems a good one to me, although I know nothing about selling coins.

·11 months agoCoins under $20 are also eligible to use eBay Standard Envelope service. Those you do print off eBay and attach to a regular envelope. They have some tracking and insurance and you can just drop them in a mailbox like any old stamped letter.

Off topic, but what type of penny is worth $5? Truly curious as I'm not a coin person... 🤔

·11 months agoIn your case I would suggest you to sell in bulk. That way you sell more at once and be able to ship with "Ground Advantage" which give you a tracking number. If you ship multiple individual pennies with no tracking number that will give you many "dings" on your seller performance level record under tracking which you didn't provide. You don't want to do that. So sell in bulk when selling cheaper items like $5 or under.

·11 months agoYou are more than welcome to list as such but you will need to just use stamps instead of buying postage through ebay.
The drawbacks are no tracking information and buyers will easily be able to win an item not received claim.
