Shipping
i sold an item and the buyer pay for shipping but when I was about to ship it tru postal office they printed the shipping label and scan it they told me the shipping haven’t been payed but the buyer pay for it shows on the receipt.
Is it me in the wrong or did the buyer did something or it’s eBay messing the order ?

@st6qn_25 This is why many don't fully understand what you're talking about. Most of us here use a completely different system for dealing with shipping. As such my answer below is simply an educated guess.
Based on your pics, the label in question should have been no different than the other ones you were given and successfully used the QR code at the post office. It does show that the buyer paid eBay for the shipping and eBay provided you with the label (or code in your case) at no cost. My guess would be the postal worker was mistaken or confused.
Did you need to pay for the label at the post office? If so how much?

OP1 month agoNothing yet I’ll try again tomorrow and see but yeah like you said it’s exactly the same as the other ones. If I have to pay then it is what is it but yeah I’ll have to figure it out tomorrow with the lady.
Thank you for the help tho

·1 month agoI'm visualizing here...did you go to the post office and give them the package. Then they weighed it and slapped a label on it and said to pay the bill?
If that is what happened then yes you had to pay the bill at the counter.
The buyer paid YOU for the shipping. Then you take that money and buy a label. If you do it correctly you come out even or sometimes ahead on the cost of the label.
If that is what happened the next time you need a label buy it through ebay as you will save on postage costs as you can get a discount over the counter rate at the post office. No matter what ,YOU buy the label.
When you receive your money from ebay from the sale you will see that you have been paid the shipping the buyer gave you. Just remember in the end ebay gets their fees based on sale price + taxes + shipping (i.e. shipping that YOU charged the buyer).

OP1 month agoOh okay I understand but I have sold 5 items like this and they never did this like me to pay the label, I just show em the barcode and that’s it I don’t have to pay nothing like yes they did pay me to ship it like u said i had to pay there but I didn’t. Maybe those were different ? Or maybe depends from where they buy ?

·1 month agoI wish I could help more. I don't use the codes because I am always convinced I will mess them up at the post office. Our post offices can be a bit brutal at times. ✌

·1 month agoUnderstood now. I don't use the codes for shipping. So maybe I can't help here.
But you can check the order that you sold and look up the order details and see if you were actually charged for the postage from ebay since (I think) you bought your "code" for shipping here. Did you check the order details?
If you were charged twice and have two different shipping "codes" or actual labels then I would think the one that was not used should be immediately canceled. I think it takes a few weeks to get a refund from USPS so they make sure the tracking number is not actually used.

·1 month agoThe buyer pays you to ship it.
You use that money to pay the carrier to deliver it.
Did you buy a shipping label through Ebay?
st6qn_25
OP1 month agoI did not I’m new to eBay so basically the last 5 order that I sold I just showed the barcode and that’s it. Like they just buy the item I clicked on shipped item and it gives me a barcode which I show to the person in the postal office and they printed and send it.

·1 month ago · EditedIt can be done this way, but if the label was not paid for thru eBay then the USPS should charge you for it.
On this particular order look up the order details and it will show if you paid eBay for the label. If you paid eBay and the USPS then you should be able to get a refund for one of the labels. There is limited time to ask for a refund so you need to figure out quickly if you paid twice.
See if eBay shows you purchased the label here
