Shipping
I sold item with Ground Adv. shipping but when going to print label, it said Buyer Selected Priority. I shipped Ground Advantage since that was what was in listing. Did I do wrong? Am I in trouble? What should I do? He had already paid my flat rate of 15.99 along with purchase price of item.

·10 months agoEbay has software in place that detects delivery dates when they're not in compliance with the delivery times, in other words ebay will catch that you sent something Ground Advantage when it should've gone Priority... But in terms of consequence you'll catch a "late shipment" defect and I'm not sure how many you can acquire but one of these is not that serious, just don't make it a habit and you'll be fine.
You will likely receive a message in some order (usually after the item is delivered) to inform you of the violation, again it's not terribly serious but an accumulation of these wouldn't be good.
If you had time to cancel the Ground Advantage label and purchase a Priority one, that would be optimal.

·10 months agoYou have done nothing wrong, how how ship anything is up to you. Just remember if a buyer pays for Priority Mail they expect it there within a certain time. If you switch the shipping and get it there in time there will be no issue. I switch shipping now and then and never had an issue. No need to contact the buyer.

·10 months agoI would not worry about it, most buyers will never know the difference.

·10 months agoPriority is rarely faster than GA these days anyways. Good chance it gets there in the right amount of time regardless. Personally I wouldn't contact the buyer. They probably won't notice or care as long as it arrives to them in the expected time frame.

·10 months agoI agree - and even Media Mail seems to be zipping along these days. Probably get bogged down over the Christmas season of course. Enjoy it while it lasts anyway.

·10 months agoIt happens, so the insurance is the same now, the time difference in most cases is 1 day. Message your buyer and tell him you made an honest mistake and his shipment will be delayed by a day maybe 2 and reimburse him the difference in the shipping. Never had a problem, most people are very understandable.

·10 months agoWhich item was it? If it's the hat, the $15.99 shipping cost shows it's for priority mail. I'd email the buyer proactively and apologize for accidentally sending the item 1st class rather than priority, and would refund them a portion of the shipping. When it's my error, I give generous refunds. I'd probably refund $10 or the whole shipping charge. The buyer is happy and it's a kick in the pants to myself to remind myself to be more careful. I'd also point out to the buyer that the shipping time of priority vs first class is usually just 1-2 days.

OP10 months agoThank you for taking your time to help me out. I must have accidentally hit priority and didn't realize it. I will do as you suggest. Thanks again

If you're referring to the Australian hat, the listing showed Priority shipping, and that's why eBay showed you that the buyer selected Priority.
If you haven't already mailed it, I would cancel the label now and purchase the proper Priority label.

·10 months agoThe hat? Listing says priority.......no option for GA........... Has he complained?...... if not, I'd let it go unless he does.......and if he does, just admit to a mistake and give him some $$ back.....
