If you made a purchase as a buyer & provided the incorrect address, then it will depend on your address status with the USPS. If you provided a new forwarding address to the USPS, then they will more than likely send it to your new address. If its actually delivered, then it will depend on the new person living at your new address to give it back to the USPS & eventually return the item back to the shipper. If the seller ever receives the returned parcel, then they can work with you to reship the item. Please keep in mind that the seller might ask you to pay for another shipping label.
In the meantime, I would reach out to the seller and alert them of the address issue you provided for the transaction.
If you have a forwarding request on file at the Post Office that the item was shipped to, then it should be forwarded for you. USPS Mail forwarding is free, except for Media Mail. Here's the USPS page about forwarding.
@oliverose Once an item is paid for, the seller cannot change the shipping address. If the item has not yet shipped you will have to submit an order cancellation request so you can repurchase with your correct shipping address. Submit a Cancellation Request
If it's too late for the seller to cancel then you may want to work with the current resident of the address entered at checkout so you can retrieve the package if delivered to them, or contact the local PO and ask them to hold the package for pickup.
You can visit this page to make sure your registration and shipping addresses are both up to date. Once you enter your new address, change it to your default address which will allow you to delete the old address. Account Settings: Addresses
You can file a change of address and mail forwarding request with USPS which will take a minimum of 3 biz days, or up to 2 weeks to go into effect. USPS Mail Forwarding
If the package cannot be delivered as addressed, the carrier will generally return it to the seller. UPS/FedEx charge for that and USPS charges if the service used was Media Mail.
While some sellers are willing to re-ship, they may ask you to pay shipping again, plus any return ship costs due to the faulty address.
Keep in mind eBay does not require the seller to issue a refund when a package is undeliverable because the buyer provided the wrong address, though many sellers will refund less non-refundable expenses (shipping / fees).
I live at the address it was shipped to, but not now. I live at a different address 5-6 months a year. I will contact the seller and see what can be done if the order is not forwarded.

Then it will either be forwarded if your forwarding request with USPS is processed in time, or it will be delivered to the other address. If it's delivered to the other address, you may want to ask a neighbor to pick it up for you so it's not potentially sitting out in the elements for another several months.
I doubt the package will be returned to the seller since the address you provided is valid, you're just not living there during the Winter. Nothing the seller can do if USPS delivers it there. Hopefully you submitted the forwarding request in time.

And what are the circumstances of that wrong address?
Buyer gave wrong delivery address? Seller messed up?
