Several of my packages sent through USPS is either missing or damaged!
I have had to issue several refunds for missing packages and broken items that were mishandled by USPS. It seems to be getting worse with carriers. I have submitted missing item claims through USPS and they continue to send emails stating the packages have not been located. It hurts my business to keep sending refunds to buyers. Has anyone else had issues with USPS?

As you have discovered, three layers of bubble is not adequate packaging for many fragile items. Double boxing is necessary for many shipments to be guaranteed to arrive safely. The cushioned item in a box and that box separated from the outer box by several inches of packing material.
USPS is still gentler than other parcel carriers, but USPS now relies on parcel business for growth and survival, and there are more and heavier parcels in the system. Many shipments are damaged by other shipments.
Double boxing means larger packages, dimensional weight, and/or surcharges so you need to plan ahead for higher shipping costs.

·9 months agoI live in NH and the mail service is terrible. I deal with at least one lost package a week.
Back in 2019 the Post Office reduced distribution to one center and one high speed sorter.
They used to have UPS take their packages from hub to hub because of few commercial flights leaving NH. They use to have more mail workers and mail men .
Packages picked up on Friday do not leave HH until Monday. UPS no longer takes packages so they end up throwing them on a truck to another distribution if the do not have enough room on the commercial jets out of Manchester
Mail just takes longer to process now.
It depends on where you live.

·9 months agodef sounds like time to make some packaging/labeling changes, like others stated I have shipped many many thousands of packages thru usps and damages are EXTREMELY rare, like virtually never.

·9 months agoMissing would mean LOST (what does tracking say?)- you can file with USPS for reimbursement 3 weeks after last tracking.
Broken- that's on you unless box is completely mangled. Pack each item as if it get thrown off the 3rd story balcony onto the pavement below.

OP9 months agoThank you for the response. I triple wrap everything with bubble wrap. The picture showed the box was damaged, almost looked like it was thrown off the truck. Lesson learned and will just keep doing my best making sure they are packaged more secure in stronger boxes.

Tracking stops a distribution centers on the 3 packages. I secure my labels with lots of tape so I am not sure how the labels would come off. I filed claims with USPS and they will not issue any type of refunds. I will just be more careful in the future!

·9 months agoNope. 26 years, over 10,000 transactions, no issues with USPS whatsoever.
If you're having issues like this with this minimal amount of transactions, look inward, not at the USPS.
