selling alkaline batteries on ebay.com

i sell AA alkaline batteries new in original ovp packing on , , etc... so inside europe i do not have problems i sold probably over 1000 all was shipped with regular county post
once one usa buyer buy batteries and i ship 12 of them to usa, i know that USPS allow AA alkaline batteries to be shipped inside usa, and most stupid thing happend , batteries came to usa and customs dont want to release them LOL , i mean if i was in usa out of customs building i can ship them with USPS but they do not want to give them to USPS , in my opinion that is very stupid thing... but ok i refund buyer and move on
after that i do not ship them anymore out of EU, but i have alot of interest in USA , so i have few questions:
is that was one time customs problem or they will really take all alkiline batteries i ship from eu to usa (i never try again)
is it possible to i send batteres to ebay and they ship them inside usa with global shipping program ?

·2 years agoSince we can get batteries at just about every store here in the US, don't see many paying to have them shipped from another country.

·2 years agoIt is a complex situation for a variety of reasons.
1. There are trademark issues. Some major brands hold trademarks in Europe which infringe on trademarks for competitors in the U.S. They cannot be imported into the U.S.
2. In the U.S. The trademarks for some brands are owned by different legal entities within the same brands ownership and may be deemed infringing.
3. There may be health, safety or environmental requirements which are not met.
The products sold under brands like Energizer or Duracell in the EU are not identical to US products.

OP2 years agobatteries are from asia not europe, i have them here but they are import from asia and they are maxell brand wich i sell in europe if i can sell them here probably no problem to sell them in usa , also i ask ebay agent now and he told me that usps allow alkaline batteries also i can ship them from asia to usa seller wich sell me can import them with DHL without problem so i do not thin brand is problem, ebay agent told me to try again that problem was last time can be isolated once time

·2 years agoBrand might not be a problem, unless they are the fake ones from China.
If they are legit, shouldn't be a problem.
China sellers ship them here all the time or we can go to any dollar store and pick up some.

OP2 years agoyeah thats why is so strange i send my first package with only 12 batteries and customs in NY hold them i refund buyer , they are still in customs facility by tracking 4 months pass haha, so after that i stop sell them , maybe i will try to offer one sell for only 4 batteries to see what will happend this time
