selling a vehicle from US and have bidders unable to bid they get this message "unfortunately this item cannot be sent to United Kindgom" anyone having the same issues?

·2 years agoIf you haven't sold internationally in the past you might want to take a deep dive into the possible problems.
There was a car in Canada I wanted but once I was presented with the horror show of problems I passed. Not the least of which is that Canada's emissions standards are different from the US. A friend bought one and ultimately had it confiscated as not be US legal. AND he was not able to get a clean title. And there was no refund.

OP2 years agothanks I have sold a few over seas but been a bit since i have my vehicles are in the 50's trucks so not too worried about the emissions but thank you for responding.

Your shipping company only ships to the USA, which is understandable for a vehicle. Only users whose primary shipping address is in the USA (with a valid USA zip code) can bid on it.

OP2 years agothanks for the info so no one over sea seas can bid on it? I have never ran into this before is there a way around this? I have a couple who want to place a bid but it wont let them

·2 years agoNormally, I would wonder how they expected to pick up the vehicle if they're in the UK, but I see it's a classic vehicle, and they could have it shipped over in a container. It would be worth it to a real collector. Make sure you take the normal precautions for selling a high-value investment vehicle, and be sure that the payment is real before you let their shipping company pick it up.
Go to your Buyer Management page.
Make sure the box is NOT checked next to "Block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a location I don't ship to", and that the slide-bar next to "Apply above settings to active and future listings" is blue, then click the blue submit button.

·2 years agoYes, eBay probably adds it as a service for buyers. You only offered local pickup, but this way buyers can arrange shipping if they want to take the risk.
With ordinary vehicles, it isn't worth the risk to buy a vehicle without inspecting it personally first, but with classic cars, most potential buyers and sellers understand the risks and know how to deal with them. @richard1rst mentioned some of them. If you're not familiar with dealing in classic cars, you might want to find a dealer or broker who could take care of the sale for you.
