Seller shipped to billing address, when the order reflected a different shipping address.
I purchased an item and the tracking showed the item was delivered, but I did not receive. When I checked the tracking # provided it shows the item was delivered to Nevada, which is where our main residence is and is our billing address. When I placed the order, it allowed me to enter a "Shipping Address" and I entered the address to our summer condo in Michigan (our 2nd residence). When I checked the order, it does show the item was to be shipped to our Michigan address, not Nevada. I've opened a case that I did not receive the item, but then realized the item is sitting in Nevada (in the summer heat - which is not good for this product). Any advice, we don't have family or friends in Nevada to get the item and ship it to me, and it was something I needed here in Michigan.

·2 years agoHi @rj17015 . Sorry to hear this happened. I found the listing expecting to see perhaps the item selling with an offer or maybe auction format. When the buyer does not pay right away, the seller can access buyer's registered address by clicking a send invoice link and it's gotten some sellers into trouble by shipping to that address before the buyer submits payment with their correct address. Unfortunately that easy explanation does not apply here because that listing sold exclusively through fixed price at the list price.
Is there any chance you committed to purchase the item but paid later? If not, that leads us to some kind of eBay error.
A couple months back there was a short-lived error with the iOS app where some buyer's purchases defaulted to old addresses instead of current addresses. eBay did alert all sellers and handle those situations. I am hoping that issue did not rear its ugly head again, but I have to ask: did you make the purchase using the iOS app and is it possible you have not updated the app in a while and are using an old glitchy version?
Regardless of the reason, it's very clear from your screenshot that you entered a MI address with payment, so the order should not have shipped to a NV address.
My suggestion is to contact eBay CS through social media and speak with one of those reps to explain what happened and ask them to investigate the order from the seller's side to see if the seller was provided the MI or the NV address, if the seller purchased the label through eBay, etc - and ask them if this is an eBay tech error will they file a ticket and handle the refund for the INR claim. If it is a tech error it should fall on eBay to refund you, not the seller. If eBay says this was seller error then that still leaves us with a question of how the seller got the NV address and outside of a tech error the only thing I can think of is delayed payment as mentioned above.

·2 years agoI have absolutely had this happen to me before ... funny thing is it was the same address anyway.
I listed my PO Box (as the PO Box) on the order and some how the seller received my default shipping address which is the STREET ADDRESS format of my PO Box.
So eBay provided the seller the wrong address to ship to ... thankfully both addresses deliver to the exact same location and are just two different formats of the same location

·2 years agoIt is unfortunate that your main residence is in Nevada and you do not have any friends or family there to retrieve the item for you.
Is it possible you can contact one of your neighbors in Nevada and ask them to retrieve the item for you?

OP2 years agoUnfortunately our mail boxes are locked, so there is no way for a neighbor to access our mailbox.

·2 years agoSellers don't know anything about you, how you pay, whether an address is your home address, vacation address, billing address or if it's the address of a gift recipient. They are only give the "ship to" address that the BUYER chose through the order.
This error is on you, unfortunately.

·2 years agoYou should lose the case because the Seller properly shipped the item and it was successfully delivered. I know you think you changed the address, but it didn't happen ... perhaps you didn't press "submit" ... no way to know.
Anyway, to solve the error, it seems that there has to be some sort of gig service that can pick up the package, take it to a post office, and ship it to your address in Michigan.
Probably cost you about $20-40, I guess.

·2 years agoThe seller ships to the address that eBay provides. Sellers do not have access to eBay's database of all the addresses that you might have entered into the system ... we only see ONE address, and eBay tells the seller to ship to that address.
So, this tells me that eBay did not communicate to the seller with the address that you specified. So, since it isn't the seller's fault ... and it isn't your fault ... then it is eBay's fault.
Best of luck talking with customer service to get this straightened out.

It is likely that you, the buyer. failed to properly select the correct address to ship to.
