Seller paying twice for shipping label
Bayer paid $45.90 including shipping $13. My order earnings $23.81 and I pay again for shipping the same amount $ 7.04. Than my earnings $16.77 instead $23.81. Why I paid twice for shipping $14.08 and buyer paid $ 13. Is shipping cost $27.08?

·1 week agoSo the difference between what ebay calls order earnings of $23.81 and what you say you received as a payout of $16.77 is the cost of the label - $7.04?
The label cost is already deducted on your order earnings. Are you sure you only bought one label? Did you have another sale where the label cost was $7.04?

The shipping fee you charged was $13.00
The buyer paid $45.90.
You bought the label for $7.04.
Part of the $45.90 went to the buyer's local government as sales taxes.
You shipped.
From the ENTIRE payment of $45.90 you paid 13.9% eBay fees +40c service charge
Leaving $32.74 as profit.
(45.90x .139+7.04 -45.90)
But you only see $16.77 as earnings.
Did you use Promoted Listings ?
If you had even at the minimum 2%, your customer's ENTIRE payment (including sales taxes and shipping fee) was charged at 15.9%.
If you allowed 25% for Promoted Listings your fee rose to 38.9% of the ENTIRE payment.

·3 weeks ago@elkvi-0 You've sold enough stuff to know how shipping works. You charge buyers for shipping, their money comes to you and you uset hat money to buy the shipping label. The buyer never buys the label.
You charged the buyer $13 for shipping. If the label you bought cost more than $13, you have to eat the cost of whatever the actual amount is. ALL of it comes out of your order earnings.
Remember, before you ever buy the shipping label, eBay fees come out of your earnings. If you ran general ads, whatever percentage you run comes out of it as well. If you had $23.81 out of a $45 sale, it sounds like you had ad fees, too.

OP3 weeks agoRegardless of any additional fees, it is not normal for the proceeds from a sale to be nearly half the selling price.

·3 weeks ago@elkvi-0 This is uncommon. Selling fees are usually not as high as 50%.
Did you have this listing promoted?
This will increase what ebay takes to pay for the ad fees.
You can find what was paid in fees on right-hand side of the order details page for your order.
There should be a breakdown of fees there for the items sold. The breakdown may give you a better understanding of why the cost for this sale was so high.

·2 weeks ago@elkvi-0 The screen grab shows that you did have this listing promoted using ebay's general promotion. That is the line item for "Ad Fee General" $5.51 under "Selling costs."
Also, did you factor in the $2.90 for sales tax that ebay automatically charges your buyer? This sales tax is mandatory and occurs on all applicable sales transactions.
If you plan on promoting listings in the future, you have to be prepared to give a percentage of each sale back to ebay for advertising costs.

OP1 week agoDeducting $5.51 from the total amount of $45.90 (comprising the $30 sale price, $13 shipping cost, and $2.90 sales tax paid by the buyer) amounts to 12% of that total, rather than 12% of the $30 sale price itself—which would have been the correct approach!
