Seller is away from home.
I bought an Xbox Series S and expected it within October 2-8th (it's currently the 30th of September) and the seller just infor me that he won't be able to ship it for at least 2 weeks because he is on vacation/out of the house. Is there anything I can do? Are there rules against something like this?

·11 months agoI would just request to cancel. after 3 days if the seller has not already refunded you and the item has not been shipped then you automatically get refunded. All this opening a item not received nonsense is unnecessary, that's only needed if you have no other option.

·11 months agoWhen you've opened the dispute on the 9th October, you can ask eBay to step in after 3 days if the seller's provided no tracking number.

I don't believe this for one minute.
Looking at the some of the recent sales of Xbox Series S from sellers with 0 or very low feedback,
IF it's one of those, I believe this to be either
1) The seller has no idea about managed payments or funds on hold OR
2) It's a fraudulent listing for a non existent item
What is the item number ? - Don't give the seller's name.

·11 months agoNo, the order number doesn't help as no-one can see the actual item.
The listing will show 'ebay item number' on the lower right of the listing page.

·11 months agoThis could match either my 1) or 2) options as it's an account which has no feedback for selling, just 4 feedback for buying over a year ago.
Possibly number 1) but either way, open the 'item not received' dispute on the 9th and ask eBay to step in after 3 days if the seller's provided no tracking, which I'm sure will be the case.
You'll receive a refund.
I recommend in the future, you buy this type of item from established sellers with good feedback for selling, unless it's a pick up only item , where you can view the actual item in person

·11 months agoAs of Oct 9 you can file an item not received case if it's not arrived. Click the item has not arrived button in purchases on your my eBay page. Yes the seller does have to ship in the given time frame. Failing to do so gets them a bad buyer experience mark on their selling record. Does not take too many of those to be banned from selling for life.

Nothing you can do until one day after the last estimated delivery date.
If you don't have it by then, open an Item, Not Received case.

OP11 months agoAhh, well, that sucks, I thought there would be some sort of rule against having something listed if you can't send it within the timeframe you put up.
