Selected FedEx Ground/FedEx Home delivery for shipping for item, buyer selected FedEx economy ?
I canceled order because this was a expensive item, double checked my shipping selection and it was correct. My question is how was the buyer able to select economy over what I had selected. Thank you

OP9 months agoThat was not what happened, my selection for shipping this Item was FedEx Ground/FedEx Home, I did not select FedEx economy for buyer to be able to select this, my weight and dimensions for my package were correct and eligible for shipping with FedEx Ground/FedEx Home, but some how the buyer was able to select FedEx economy and then I was not able to change to the shipping that I had selected for this Item, If you are not familiar with FedEx economy you take this to a official FedEx drop off then it ships from there but at some point it gets handed over to USPS for final delivery and at that point if package is lost/ damaged etc. you have no claim because your insurance was only good while FedEx was handling package. This was a $700 item which I would never ship with out full coverage from drop off until delivered. I had no choice but to cancel item after getting no response from buy after attempting to contact them. Thank you

OP9 months agoit was 35 lbs. 21" by 17" by 14" dimensions were right and my selection was excepted when I made listing

·9 months agoThe listing page allows sellers to choose ANY available shipping option. It does NOT take into account anything about the item. eBay expects sellers to already know the restrictions of the services they want to use and choose appropriately for their items.
The 'Buy Label' page though does take the item's details into account and won't let you purchase a label it doesn't qualify for. So while one can list say a stereo with similar w/d and choose Media Mail in the shipping section, you will be blocked from buying a Media Mail label due to category.

2.) You could have just shipped it Fedex economy instead of cancelling and receiving a defect.

·9 months agoThe shipping options may have not been available for your item depending on the size and weight of the package.
The buyer cannot change it but the seller can change it. However, when you say they are not available, it leads me to think that the package didn't qualify for the other shipping options.
What was the item?

·9 months agoIt is not possible for the buyer to select a mailing/shipping class that you did not offer in the listing.
Quick answer to your question. They can't.
