Seeking shipping and tracking advice
Hello, I put this post on "Ask a mentor" section but I was hoping someone here in eBay community can help me how to proceed with the predicament I'm facing. So, here's it is.
I sold two items last week for the first time. I received the payment from the buyer, and I made items, for buyer. I paid and printed out two shipping labels for each item (with two tracking numbers) and I asked my wife to dropped off the items at the local UPS store.
BUT, instead of shipping the items individually, my wife put the items together in one package and shipped them out. So, the items were delivered on the next day and here's the problem I noticed.
On the Seller Hub "Orders" section, under "Paid and shipped" section, one of the tracking numbers labeled as delivered but for the other tracking number, it stated:
"Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet."
Someone in eBay community yesterday suggested that I can edit the tracking number. I tried and only thing it stated that: "Tracking number provided."
I don't know if anyone here in eBay community has done something like this or similar and I was hoping I can receive some form of advice on how to proceed next. Any information and guidance would be appreciated.
In advance, thank you for your input.

·2 years agoAs long as the items were purchased from the same ID and shipping to the same address, you will be able to add the same tracking number to both orders @limsarijewelry . If the buyer used guest checkout you may see 2 different IDs (off by a character or two) which means you'll get an error if you try to add the same tracking to both orders.
The first thing you need to do is void the label you did not use. See below for info on voiding. Purchasing the label through eBay means you cannot edit or remove the first tracking number, but you can add a second tracking number.
Go to your orders page here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
To the right of the tracking number you'll see an edit link. Click on that and when the pop up appears, you will have the option of adding a tracking number. Add the tracking number used for the combined shipment and save.
To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.
EDIT: I see you received similar advice on the Ask a Mentor forum. Please note this part of that advice is not correct: The unused UPS label will not be charged, since it was not used.
eBay made changes over the past couple of months and all UPS/FedEx labels are charged at the time of purchase. In the past they weren't charged until after delivery. FYI @rfmtm 🙂

·2 years ago@wastingtime101 I have read posts where the upfront billing for UPS/FedEx was abandoned, but I can't find anything official one way or the other. Do you have any link to confirm what is going on?

·2 years agoThat was posted in error a month ago and retracted the next morning @rfmtm . I believe rollout to paying upfront is complete at this point.

When are eBay Labels fees charged to my payment method?
USPS Labels are charged at the time of label printing. Starting in September 2023 UPS and FedEx labels will also be charged at the time of label printing.

·2 years ago^^ That's an assumption based on what was written in the monthly chat post I linked above, and the number of weeks it's been since I've seen any reports of post-delivery billing. Accounts of every seller I've spoken with about this were rolled over 4-6 weeks ago.
The banner was removed from the top of the shipping label page a while ago after being up there for several weeks, so that's another reason I assume the rollover is complete. Hope that clarifies @rfmtm . 🙂

·2 years agoHey @rfmtm ! I noticed eBay updated that Seller Center page so it appears the transfer to paying upfront is complete. That page is a great reference to have bookmarked - the shipping team does a good job of keeping it updated as they make changes to the platform. With the switch to paying UPS/FedEx upfront they had the FAQs on that page buttoned up and published before the roll out. https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/faqs
When are eBay Labels fees charged to my payment method?
Labels are charged at the time of label printing. Learn more about printing eBay labels.
I printed a label but I’m not going to use it. Can I void the label and get a refund?
Yes. You have up to five days from the time you print a FedEx, UPS or USPS label to void it and get a refund. The cost of the label will be credited to your eBay account within 21 days. Learn more about voiding eBay labels.
At this point the only labels on delayed billing are for eBay International Standard Delivery (not to be confused with eIS) which aren't billed until the package is weighed/measured at the hub.

·2 years agoGive it time to update. Ebay is late updating tracking numbers. I have a package where ebay shows it was accepted and USPS shows delivered. Both screenshots taken at the same time at 1: 50 PM.
