Scam email about global shipping?
I received an email this morning from a Suzette Boston (AWF) - whatever that means. I opened and she wrote how wonderful it was to speak with me and that she followed up by reviewing my account and see I have certain countries excluded from the places to which I internationally ship and wouldn't I please go and allow all countries. Then it was a listing of all the great reasons for ebay global shipping.
I have not spoken to Suzette (an ungoogleable person, you'd think she would have a LinkedIn at least) or anyone from Ebay about anything in ages. The email has a tiny ebay logo as a footer. There are links for me to go change my preferences in regard to the countries. I have to assume this is a scam? The links are probably phishing/virus-ridden? Also, I didn't receive this in my ebay messages, only to my personal email connected to my ebay account. Looks like more than 400 people are bcced? It's worrisome that scammers would have all our email addresses.
Anyone else get this? If it really is from ebay, OOF not a good way to go on so many levels.

I know all about Suzette.
She is a barrister from Nigeria whose father was a gunny-sergeant during the 1981–2005 conflict between Nigeria and Cameroon over Bakassi.
She has uncanny access to millions of dollars in various British banks, and for some reason is constantly seeking to give it away.
Personally, I refuse to work with her until she shows me her license to practice law. ðŸ˜

·1 year agoHi, Ebay has been telling our customers to buy from other vendors and telling our customers that we can't ship internationally. Suzette Boston is involved but this has been going on for over a month. Not sure what Ebay's advantage is to lose revenue and treat their top-tier revenue generators with DEFLECT DENY DELAY, responses. Very disappointing.

·1 year agoHave buyers told you that? Generally would have no contact with eBay unless there was a problem.
You might want to review your international shipping method. Most of your listings that I looked at had UPS Worldwide Expedited as the only shipping method. The minimum shipping cost to Canada looked to be $150 and many items were much higher. Many buyers would be put off by paying $30 for an item and $168 in shipping.

Never receive them in my Ebay messages.
You should be able to tell by the email address or links if it's from Ebay.

OP2 years agoThanks! I've been ebaying for many years and this is the first time I ever received an email from the name of someone with no ebay ID in sight until you open and read the fine print. The email is actually addressed to someone else and then 460ish people are cced, their addresses open for me to see. In our day in age, the whole presentation is red flaggy all over the place/not well thought out.

·2 years agoIf it was from eBay you think they would use the correct name of the program which is EBay International Shipping. The GSP has been replaced by EIS.
