return and credit
Ok, I sent the wrong item to a customer, we did the whole return label I purchased, and I item was just sent back to me. I need to send the original item purchased back to the customer. My question is I also have to purchase a new label correct? she also requested a discount, which I am glad to do so since it was my mistake! How do i do that if the item is already paid for? any help is appreciated.

If the seller filed an INAD, you should refund and relist.
If you just ship the correct item, Ebay could refund the buyer anyway.

·4 months agoSee if the original listing gives you the option to purchase an additional label.
Look under Orders >>> Shipping Labels and you can also look in the order details flyout menu for that option. I see it all the time but never use it.
You can also print a label directly from usps.com

·4 months agoThe buyer filed a case against you correct? There is an open return case against you. You will most likely have to refund the buyer in full to close that case. You stated the incorrect item was sent back and in your hands. Cause you have to make sure of that before refunding. The buyer will then receive a refund. You then need to start a new transaction with the buyer by relisting this item again and the buyer repurchase the item less the discount you agreed to with the buyer. Then you can purchase a label for this new transaction and send the correct item.

A bit confused... when you wrote "we did the whole return label I purchased" in your OP, I thought you meant that a Return had been opened. (And if that had happened, you'd have to refund upon receipt to close out the transaction, then relist and have the buyer repurchase.) I mean... I understood as @bonanza125 did.
If the item was returned with a label bought outside of an eBay transaction, then you could return to that source and buy another label to get the correct item to your buyer. Regarding the 'discount' you mentioned, you can go to the initial transaction and use the drop down menu (to the left) to 'Send Refund' in the agreed upon amount. Good luck.
