Rerouting package due to tornados? April 2024
I was wondering if anyone has had their shipment rerouted to Phoenix AZ that were suppose to go to St. Louis MO and then on to South Dakota? I've looked all over the USPS website and not info found. I can understand the logistics being all messed up because of this week's tornadic activity in the mid-west, but MO to AZ? But Tracking is still showing delivery tonight in SD. If anyone knows of specific detours from MO to AZ would you kindly share it? I have a client who needs to know where her package is....and I'm trying my best to find out via normal tracking routes. Thank you in advance for any info!

·2 years agoI ship packages from the East coast by Ground Advantage and some go through Phoenix, some go through Salt Lake City and some go through Denver. That has applied to whatever state the destination may be in the west and/or northwest, etc. There is no way to determine which postal facilities a package may go through, as far as I know. Severe weather can further complicate the uncertainty.

·2 years agoAnything is possible.....human error placing the parcel in the bin to AZ. Or maybe, AZ has more volume going to SD & the USPS wanted to consolidate shipments thru AZ or maybe it went to AZ due to the weather issues in the midwest. Too many possibilities!!!
Good luck with your customer.

·2 years agoThey could have tossed it into thew wrong bin and sent it there. They have been known to route through less busy centers so it could be that. I do know the service has been getting worse over time.
