Request to Remove Buying Restriction
Summary: mirfarid291 shared their experience of purchasing three items from the same seller on eBay, each priced at $1, but faced a $15 shipping fee per item without a combined shipping option. They requested to cancel the orders, misunderstanding the policy, and sought to remove a restriction placed on their account due to unpaid orders. Other participants informed mirfarid291 about the necessity of confirming shipping details before purchasing, emphasizing that sellers aren't required to offer combined shipping. mirfarid291 acknowledged their mistake and expressed their intention to verify shipping costs in the future to avoid such issues.
I won three items from the same seller for $1 each. However, the seller requested a separate $15 shipping fee for every item and refused my request to combine shipping. Since the total shipping cost was unexpectedly high, I asked to cancel the orders. I did not intend to violate eBay’s payment policy. Please review the unpaid-order records and remove the buying restriction from my account.

·1 month agoEveryone is so mean to her. Nope, eBay isn't nicer now.
Sorry this happened to you.

·1 month agoNo one is being mean. We are just telling her that she needs to ask questions before buying and also we are just volunteers that can't do anything about her UPI strike sor restrictions.

·1 month agoNone of us here can look at your account or remove UPI strikes or restrictions. But as others have said when you agree to buy an item you need to pay for it as $16 per item is still a good deal. Never assume a seller will combine all items in one package to save on shipping charges. Depending on what the items are that can sometimes cost more. I usually automatically combine all items in one package unless they are bigger items. I had an order from a buyer that it would have e cost be over $80 if I shipped then together but when I shipped them separately one was around $20 and the the other was $15.

·1 month agoSo basically the items were each $16 with FREE shipping. $1 purchase price + $15 shipping is still the same. You got a good deal. Pay for the items.
In the future, if you do not like the total with shipping -- do not purchase. Seller's can not change the terms you agreed to when you purchased after the fact.

OP1 month agohank you for the clarification. I understand that I should have confirmed combined shipping before bidding. I mistakenly assumed that the three items from the same seller could be shipped together. I will check the full purchase and shipping costs before bidding in the future.

·1 month agoDidn't you see the shipping charge for each item before buying?
Sellers don't have to combine shipping.
mirfarid291
OP1 month agoYes, I saw the shipping charge, but I mistakenly assumed that the seller could combine shipping because all three items were purchased from the same seller. I now understand that combined shipping was not guaranteed and should have been confirmed before bidding.

If the seller doesn't offer a shipping discount for combined shipping, you need to request it BEFORE you make your purchases. The seller isn't obligated and if they don't agree to it, then what you should do is hit the back button and find another seller.
But once you've made the purchase, you're shown the shipping and you're expected to pay for your purchases.
If you don't pay, you get dinged for unpaid items. Sellers are not required to cancel transactions just because you request it.

OP1 month agoThank you for the explanation. I understand the policy now. I mistakenly assumed that combined shipping would be available because all three items were purchased from the same seller. I should have contacted the seller and confirmed this before bidding. I will check and agree on the total shipping cost before making future purchases.
