QR code for ground advantage not working
This morning I went to the post office with my QR code for Ground Advantage. The worker scanned it but got an error message saying unable to retrieve label. I tried at another post office and got the same result. Has this happened to anyone else? The package would have been a First Class package not parcel select if that matters. Thanks

·2 years agoits almost november and I am still not receiving a QR code in for usps shipping like I used to. I don't have a printer. Can you please re-enable this feature it is making things difficult for me.

·3 years agoYes, that happened to me also. My buyer chose First Class, I took my QR code to my post office-post office was unable to process this new feature that replaced First Class. So I went to my library to print a label , while there I discovered that the listing showed “shipped “ and there was even a tracking number provided in the listing. So I take my box back to the post office so that they could fix this and find a way to get my package on it’s way-after all my buyer paid for First Class shipping and I felt that it was the post office’s responsibility to get the package on its way-BUT NO!!!!! The post office checked their computer system and it showed that the package was in a “pre-ship†status. I actually saw the report. So it wasn’t that the QR code didn’t work-it worked partially-WHICH IS WORSE!
The post office told me to contact EBay.
Because of a very awful experience with EBay customer service just a few months earlier-there was no way I was going through that again. To satisfy my buyer-I chose to pay the shipping myself (which of course generated a new different tracking number) and I sent a message to my buyer advising of the issue and gave them the correct tracking number and asked them to please give me positive feedback as soon as the package arrived as that was the only way to prove to EBay that the package was indeed delivered. That existing tracking number in the listing could stay there til the cows came home and it was NEVER going to show delivered. I did get a reply from my buyer thanking me and agreeing to post feedback. I hope I get paid. I just have to wait and see. Everyone should avoid using that Advantage ground as it has serious problems. My situation kicked off one day after the rollout of the new “service “. There must be many thousands of sellers that found out the hard way about the computer glitches!!!

·3 years agoBut still not always showing Ground Advantage on the Bulk Shipping page, get Media Mail instead. Means you have to manually select GA for those incorrect items.

Here is my 5:30pm Eastern Standard. The QR codes generated from the Sunday 7/9 now work. And I generated a QR code today on the new system and it worked.

·3 years agoHi there, wanted to update with experience as of 2 pm PST here in california.
I have 30 packages with QR code. My local PO scanned the first 10 successfully and then got an error message. So I still have 20 packages that need labels.
Going to another PO today or tomorrow to see if they have the same issues

·3 years agoLastnight I was able to scan mine, howevery ebay still has it turned off to make new ones, seeing as I don't have a working printer this is making it difficult to ship items. Hopefully it's all fixed soon.

·3 years agoOh my goodness! I am having a problem even receiving my QR code! I called Ebay and the Agent I spoke to said ebay is having a GLITCH in their system. They said they were working on it. I have no printer at home so I definitely need the QR code. I notified my Buyer Ebay was having problems. I hope she doesn't request a refund and I lose tge sale!!

Currently eBay has disabled QR codes for all USPS services while they work to fix the issue, but they don't have a timeframe for resolution at this time.

·3 years agoYes, same thing happened to me at the post office this morning! Now I’m researching and it seems it’s the QR codes that aren’t working. If I knew that, I’d just print the label. When I called eBay, they told me to write out the label myself and pay out of pocket

·3 years agoMedia Mail QR codes not working now either…post office said it was only ebay QR codes as they have had multiple Amazon shippers come through with QR codes. Very frustrating

Options for printing labels: local library, Staples, friend/family/neighbor. Or buy labels at the post office. With media mail there is no price difference between retail and online rates. Since you'd be going to the post office anyway, that seems like the best option.

·3 years agoQR code not working went ahead and canceled the label and printed a paper label, seems like some one would have mentioned this early today to save everyone a lot of grief.

·3 years agoYou didn't have to cancel in order to print. You just go print. I use QR only and had a friend print one of my labels as a back up in case it's truly not fixed by tomorrow.

Update as of 7/12/23: QR Code functionality for all USPS services has been restored.
Update as of 7/11/23: A resolution is still underway; sellers will need to print their Ground Advantage labels in the interim. We'll update everyone once the issue is resolved.
Edit: QR codes have been disabled for all USPS services while we work to resolve the the issue. In the meantime, please print shipping labels for these services. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Does "QR codes for Ground Advantage labels will be scannable by USPS tomorrow" mean that QR codes generated today that weren't scannable by post offices can be scanned tomorrow?
Or does it mean those labels have to be voided with new ones generated tomorrow after this is fixed?
If it means labels have to be voided and new ones generated tomorrow, will eBay remove marks for late shipping and tracking uploaded on time?

Hi @wastingtime101. The QR codes that were generated today will be scannable tomorrow, so no need to void.

·3 years agoYes, defects will be removed. Will the original label purchased work? Probably but there's not an answer to that yet 100% until ebay fixes the glitch.

·3 years agoThank you. I was able to use my QR code at the self service kiosk late lastnight, around 9:30 pm eastern. However, ebay still has it disabled to make new ones. i don't have a working printer right now, so qr codes are the only way I can do labels. Any idea when ebay will be activating the qr codes again?

·3 years agoGround Advantage is NOT working all the time. I have a package that the seller says she took to the PO on August 16, but the GA scan continues to say as printed below. I have not received the package and the seller has not replied to my last email. She said in the first that the package was probable just delayed by the weekend but this has been the reading for the last week. The Post Office has not way to report this scanning failure. The is the third packaging scan failure I have had in one week. Randy Hayes

·3 years agoWhat you're describing is not related to this discussion about a short-lived QR code issue. It's generally better to start a new thread when you have a new issue @nagham .
It's not at all uncommon for a package to not get scans until it arrives at the destination PO. If the label is damaged or the bar code is wrapped over an edge/curve. It might not get any scans, not even at delivery unless the carrier manually keys it in. All you need to worry about is the estimated delivery date on your order. If the package doesn't arrive by the EDD you have 30 days to file a non receipt claim.

There are currently intermittent issues with USPS labels on eBay, which is probably what's affecting QR codes. See this discussion for some other options:

I had the same issue and ended up having to cancel the order because of it. I had to pay 12 for the labels. Do I get a refund to or am I not eligible?

·2 years agoThere was no need to cancel the order @programmingtech-75 . There are so many options available to sellers - next time come here first and ask for help. You'll need to void the label to get a refund.
To void a USPS shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided USPS label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

·2 years agoSo i just sold 6 items out of 21. And it let me do 2 QR codes the first day. Only 1 the second day, then it stopped working. So now i am contacting the buyers for their address. Contacted one buyer and now i can't contact another. oops something went wrong.

·3 years agoYes, it happened to me this morning too. I went to two different Post Offices. I even cancelled the first label and tried a second QR code. I called CS, I was told there is a “hiccupâ€. They are working on it. In the meantime, I have notified my customers of the situation. This is aggravating to say the least.

·3 years agoeBay told me to write my customer’s address and pay for the label out of pocket! I got a refund for the voided label but I wish I knew it was only the QR code so I would have printed the eBay label. Now I paid $1.44 more for shipping since I didn’t get the label through eBay.

·3 years agoHappened to me this morning as well with 8 packages. I’m pretty livid but the rep said they will remove late shipping defects later… we shall see. All I know is it’s is confirmed by hundreds of others between Reddit here and a few other sites so rest assured it’s not just us. Hang in there with your head held high; and try to remain calm and diligent.
