Purchasing an item from eBay for under $800, shipping from UK to US
Hello! Things are so confusing now with tariffs that I figured I'd ask here and see what people might recommend or advise.
There is a book that I'd dearly love to purchase from eBay.co.uk for under $800, but it was marked as "may not post to US." I imagine this was because, as an auction site, eBay had no way to know whether it would sell for under $800, but that's only a guess on my part.
What might be the reason that it was marked as "may not post to the US"? I spoke to the seller, and he was surprised that the item was marked that way, as he would be happy to ship it to me in the US and didn't anticipate it selling for over $800.
Any advice from anyone? I would dearly love to buy this book via eBay. Should I and the seller wait to see whether the tariff situation settles down? Should I only get the book if it stays under $800?
Thanks for any advice all of you can provide. 🙂

Maybe the seller is so happy that it's over $800 that they would fund the s&h(+) costs. What's the listing number?

·1 year agoI think it depends on how the sellers ships the item.
If they are using the Ebay shipping program (GSP), they have suspended shipments to the US.
If the seller will ship directly to the US, you should be able to buy it.
