Purchased a widget and seller did something funny with the tracking

I purchased a 4-ounce $10 widget from a seller on Saturday August 15th in the state of Georgia
Seller adds Fedex tracking number on Sunday August 16th and package is picked up same day from North Carolina for Monday Aug 17th mail
Package info: 2 pounds Fedex Pak Standard Overnight $50-$80 North Carolina to Los Angeles the weight is over a pound more than my item
I click on the tracking info in My Ebay it states package will be delivered on Tuesday August 18th
The package arrives in Los Angeles on 18th w/Scheduled delivery before 5:00p.m. PACKAGE NEVER ARRIVED through Fedex at my home
Tracking in My Ebay shows Package was delivered somewhere in Los Angeles complete with Fedex photo at 6:00p.m
At 5:45 p.m. my mailman comes to collect outgoing mail and he hands me a Amazon Prime package w/USPS Tracking with my 4-ounce widget
I did receive what I ordered, but the package came from Amazon in Arizona
I find it troubling that the seller somehow was able to get hold of a real Fedex tracking number heading for Los Angeles and add that information to my purchase
Is this normal behavior on eBay now?

·3 weeks agoYou bought an item which some seller probably ordered from Amazon using his Prime Account.
It was probably cheaper to buy on Amazon, and the seller made a profit because you failed invest enough time in shopping for the item.
That seller might be in Sri Lanka or Turkey or anywhere else in the world.
That seller is also likely to have violated Ebay and Amazon policies.
The shipment could have been ordered from Walmart or Sam's Club if the seller you chose liked those sites and their selection more than Amazon.
Do not assume that Ebay is the cheapest place to buy, common, in production items unless you have done your homework.

OP2 weeks agoThe cheapest price for the item was on eBay. I do not as a habit use Amazon because a majority of the sellers do not handle their own merchandise, which can be returned by one person missing something than resold to someone else as new.
I was scammed along with hundreds of other buyers about 6-7 months ago by a seller using fake UPS tracking numbers. The seller sold over 3000 items in a matter of 2 days for over $8,000. The tracking numbers showed our items were delivered, but everyone assumed it was the wrong address and stated as much in their feedback. I watched as hundreds of this sellers negative feedback went from as low as 84% back to 99.9 because we file an item not received and was refunded. The sellers account is still active.
After that whole fiasco I'm a little more vigilent about whom I'm buying from and yes I do check the tracking numbers to see if the item shipped is coming from the city or state of the seller. I have been on eBay for over 25+ years and the scams that are going on now are unbelieveable

·3 weeks agoHe might be purchasing his Fedex labels off eBay and manually copying and pasting tracking numbers from the site he buys the Fedex labels from. He might have just pasted in the wrong tracking number into your order on eBay. Could have been an innocent mistake, and you got someone else's tracking number by mistake.
Was it just in an Amazon Prime box, or was the return address on it an Amazon address?

OP2 weeks agoThe label was printed and the item came from an Amazon site in Arizona, but the seller claimed to be in Georgia. The envelope says Amazon Prime, but has a USPS tracking number and was delivered by USPS.
