just paid USPS $7.30 to mail a 2 oz. package from South Carolina to North Caroline about 150 miles away , the same cost to ship a 15 oz. package , so if I'm paying the cost to ship a 15 oz. package I may start adding extra weight in my packages ,that's an extra 13 ounces of weight for the same price ,If everyone follows this same practice and flood USPS with the extra weight maybe they will get the massage and lower their rates ,, I'm just getting what I'm paying for ,if paying a 15 oz rate to ship a 2 oz package ,I'm making my package weigh 15 oz. everyone needs to join in and do this , as a protest ,, the rate increase has killed my sells

·3 weeks agoProtest the USPS? You may be unaware of the war raising fuel cost and the prices for EVERYTHING. Protest that.

·3 weeks agojust use calculated shipping, so it is no problem. And I really don't get the complaints. The post office hs ben losing money for years. So now they charge more for a rural delivery. It costs them more to deliver to rural areas.

·3 weeks ago · EditedIf a heavier package is actually cheaper, weigh the package down to 2.1lbs to get the special 2-5lb rate; use packing materials like cardboard and paper, don't use anything messy or would cause a burden for a customer to dispose of (paper and cardboard is free to dispose of in recycling bins in many areas.) Cardboard on the sides and top and bottom not only weigh the package down, they can reinforce the box and reduce the need for additional dunnage.
As far as protesting, don't unnecessarily weigh down a package if it doesn't actually save you money. Instead, write you Congressional representative and let them know how you feel about the ineptitude at the post office. Only Congress has the authority to stop the insanity and stop the death spiral the USPS is in. I wish everyone would do this, if even a just few thousand of us did this, than we might get some positive changes. In the very least, it can't hurt. The USPS will just ignore complains on social media, they cannot ignore Congress.

Feel free to add an item, or items, that add value to the package.
As for just adding weight, why would the USPS care, or better yet, why do you think they would care.
