Postage Rates and Ebay Discount
Since the USPS rates have gone through the roof, why hasn't ebay upped the percentage off you give us on shipping or lower your fee's. USPS ALWAYS say's we are going to raise rates around the holidays, and then they don't, and they have been saying that for years and it never has happened. Would love to hear back from someone, I'm not the only one this has affected. Ebay needs to address the sellers about this.

·7 months agoeBay is just passing on the same discount available through other providers of online shipping. The discount is not eBay specific. In fact, does eBay even offer the cubic rates available through Pirate Ship?

OP7 months agoguess it's called FEE Bay then, and usps has been in bed with ebay for YEARS,,,This goes back as far as when Meg Whittman was running it,,I was on ebay that night it crashed, was attempting to buy a sewing machine, I went to all of the Ebay lives, they even flew some folks out there to view the program and I had dinner with Uncle Griff. I've been at this for along time, once ebay went public, just feel likes ebay should help us out some how with the new shipping rates. Shutting up and never posting again.

·7 months agoBasically you are asking for eBay to lower their fees because sellers face greater costs with shipping? Two totally independent costs. Why would anyone lower their costs just because you have to pay a higher cost to someone else?

·7 months agoYou comment about USPS saying they don't raise rates around the holidays is not correct. They do raise rates. Each year in the beginning of October they increase rates and around January it ends. Then at the end of January the increase rates plus sometimes in July they would increase them again. So yes USPS increases rates. This comes down to what USPS wants to do. Remember Ebay isn't the carrier it's USPS or whatever othr carrier is used. Keep in mind also that USPS is losing billions so giving Ebay discounts increases isn't exactly a benefit for USPS. It helps us the sellers out to get a discount which I would always recommend sellers take advance of it. I get shocked when sellers pay retail when they could just print out the label.

I've found that USPS always follows through with their rate increases. I don't see eBay changing the FVFs, though.
