Postage problem
I had my item set to 1st class mail envelope which only cost the buyer $1.36 but when I printed the label it printed USPS ground advantage with a price of $4.88!
Why did this happen and how do I fix it, void the label and repurchase the one for $1.36???

·5 months agoThere is no first class label on eBay. First class means you are just going to slap some stamps on it.

·5 months agoFirst Class envelope, you just put stamps on it or pay for it at the PO.

·5 months agoI would suggest you to change all your "First Class Letter" shipping listings to "Ground Advantage." Yes it will cost more but the buyer gets tracking. If the item gets lost or the buyer claims the item didn't arrive you the seller are responsible to refund the buyer.

USPS First Class postage cannot be purchased on eBay -- you need to purchase First Class postage at your post office.

OP5 months agoI'm looking at the shipping thru ebay right now, "USPS first class mail letter". The option is available. Has to be under 3 oz. There is also an option for a large envelope.

you are correct - the OPTION to use it is there BUT you cannot purchase stamps on eBay.
You can offer it all you want but you need to just put stamps on it or go to the PO and have it done there.

·5 months agoYes, they give you the option to use it, but you can't buy a shipping label for it.
Just like Retail Ground, you could offer it, but couldn't buy a label for it through Ebay.

OP5 months agoI printed a shipping label that I purchased from ebay. It was about $1.80 and affixed that to my envelope. I ended up voiding the one for ground advantage and repurchase the one that the buyer paid for.

·5 months agoYou cannot purchase first class mail through ebay. You can use Ebay Standard Envelope but only in specific categories where it is available (trading cards for example). This comes with very limited tracking. First class mail on the other hand cannot be tracked at all. You have to put stamps on it and mail it untracked.
