Post Office Scanning
I prepped and labeled a package 5/27 but did not catch the mailman on 5/28. I dropped the package off directly at the Post Office 5/29 this morning which is within my 2day shipping dates. The package still does not show carrier scan. Would I be dinged if the USPS does not process my item in time?

As of last August, many local post offices have stopped scanning packages (as a "cost-saving measure"), and have pushed this responsibility to the USPS Distribution Centers.
So some sellers may begin seeing defects on their "Tracking uploaded on time and validated" scores on "Dashboard."

·4 months agoYou might.
Dropped off at the PO does not mean it will be scanned at the post office, unless dropped off means you waited on the line for a clerk to scan the item. If you placed it in the drop box, it might not be scanned the next day when it has reached the first distribution center.
Some of us allow additional handling time because we do not want to worry about when USPS decides to scan.
