Pitney Bowes: "We are preparing your package." for 2 weeks
Hi,
I ordered a piece of jewellery from the UK to Germany on January 28th via the eBay Global Shipping Program.
The seller shipped it and I received a Pitney Bowes tracking number on January 29th. However, the tracking has only shown:
"We are preparing your package – shipping label created"
There have been no updates for about two weeks now.
The seller confirmed the item was handed over to the shipping center. eBay and Pitney Bowes have not provided any additional tracking information yet.
Has anyone here had experience with Pitney Bowes international shipping delays?
Is this normal and should I just wait longer?

·6 months agoBecause your order is being shipped through the eBay Global Shipping Program, after I send the parcel to the UK hub, the international delivery is handled by Pitney Bowes.
The update saying “We are preparing…†usually means your package is at the shipping centre and waiting to be processed and forwarded to Germany. At this step, tracking can stay the same for a few days, and then it suddenly updates once it moves.
Everything is going through the normal process, so there’s no need to worry. As soon as it departs or reaches Germany, you’ll see new tracking information automatically.

OP6 months agoIm at "we are preparing.." For 2 weeks now🫩 but i did hear how others also had to wait longer than expected with Pitney

·6 months agoYou are registered in Pakistan and have no record of selling anything. Why would you be shipping anything to the UK hub?

·6 months agoThere were reports France was trying to introduce overfly VAT which meant collecting VAT on all parcels passing through and not for delivery in France the on arrival in another EU country the VAT gets refunded, I have noticed far less air mail freight being shipped through the couriers hubs in France, this may be causing delays.

·6 months agoWe had something from UK to San Francisco lately.
The tracking is a little strange sometimes.
I believe our package got opened and re-sealed with tape and it was a very poorly in a re-packed box or the same box.
But we did got the item...made out of rubber which it hard to break...😀

·6 months ago4 weeks I think...way over due...tracking did stop for awhile.
Maybe they x-rayed it...which takes longer and saw maybe it was a baby

·6 months agoThere is a worldwide crackdown on shipping lifelike dolls, especially here in the UK both inbound and outbound, its been in the news and on the BBC.

·6 months agoWhat is the expected time to delivery given by eBay in your purchase confirmation?
Just because its sitting doesnt mean its delayed.
Packages get pooled and shipped in bulk to save money.
But you agreed to specific estimated delivery range, so what is it ?

·6 months agoIf the last estimated delivery date was Feb. 7th, and there is no tracking showing delivery, is there a reason that you have not opened an item not received case?

Most have no experience from UK to Germany.
I would try asking on community.ebay.de

·6 months agoIn the listing where you made the purchase, you saw an estimated delivery date.
If the item hasn't arrived by that date, and there is no evidence via tracking that it is moving through the system, why not open an item not received case? It's my understanding that this can sometimes shake an item loose and on its way.
