Pirate Ship: Suite Number missing in imported address
I imported an eBay sale into Pirate Ship so I could purchase a shipping label, but for some reason the suite number was missing in the recipient's address. I tried re-importing it, with no luck. I abandoned that and purchased the label through eBay, and the eBay label properly included the suite number.
I've emailed Pirate Ship support, but I don't know if the problem is on my end or theirs so I wanted to give a heads-up to be sure to double check shipping addresses before printing labels. Until tonight, I haven't had any problems with missing suite numbers. I'm just thankful I noticed since it could have caused an unpleasant issue with delivery.

OP1 year agoI remembered I had a problem with missing information in the past, and apparently that's what happened this time too (I found my old support correspondence). There are settings under "Actions" to check or uncheck, and most were unchecked when they should have been checked, including "Address 1" and "Address 2." I didn't change them, so I don't know why it happens, but re-checking them should solve the problem in the future.

·1 year agoThe Actions setting you're talking about just dictates what fields display on your import list. It has nothing to do with whether those fields populate on the label, it's just a customization for which columns display on your orders awaiting shipment @packratville .
I've had the same problem as you and the reason is because under Settings > General Settings > Address Settings I have "Enable Automatic Address Correction" turned on. You can turn that off, which means the address won't go through USPS address verification.

OP1 year agoThanks for the information about the automatic address correction. I'm wondering, though, if the address that goes through verification is the address that's displayed when imported? I had a similar label this morning with an apartment number that displayed and printed properly once I checked the "Address 1" and "Address 2" boxes so that the complete address, with apartment number, showed upon import.

·1 year agoThat's because the address with the apartment was correct when verified through USPS.
The address with the suite was improperly formatted and suite got stripped out.
Has zero to do with the address 1 / address 2 displaying on the chart or not.
Go here and check the address with the suite: https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm?byaddress
I also suggest checking Pirate's page about that setting.

And Pirate's page about making handwritten corrections.

OP1 year agoThanks for the links and information, they're all very helpful. The suite number was rejected in the look-up tool (two letters preceding it were the problem, without those the suite number was in the "corrected" address).
