Pickup fee on business policies not showing on actual listing?
In the shipping business policies, I put there is a $25 fee for local pickups but when the item is listed, it says Free Pickup not registering the pickup fee on the listing. Is this a glitch happening on your listings too? Or am I doing this wrong? I could be totally doing this wrong.
Thanks.

OP11 months agoIts just the time it requires for us to facilitate this for a customer. We've lost many hours on one small sell doing free local pickups. We are not set up for it and want people to purchase and have it shipped. We want orders shipped above all. Its very time consuming for us to have local pickups but we offer it for some rare buyer that needs it the same day. We are in a big city too which is very time consuming to arrange local pickups.

·11 months agoJust take off the Local Pickup option for all listings except where it would benefit both parties to make it available. I suspect you are losing sales to buyers who see charging a fee for NOT doing something (shipping the item) as a bit of a money grab.

OP11 months agoWe do ship items to buyers, we just don't want to wait all day to do a local pickup but we offer it for those customers that need it the same day. Its just an option and its optional for the buyer to pick that. We don't have to offer local pickup but we do but there is a fee involved to get an employee to take 2-3 hours to meet with them.
This topic is not about theories on local pickup. My question is how do I make it show $25 fee for local pickup and not free. Its ok if buyers don't want to do local pickup and pay the fee, we will gladly ship it to them! Thats what we want but we want those that want local pickup there is a fee for our time.
Just don't know how to change the setting in business policies.

·11 months agoActually, they ARE doing something for that fee. They are making themselves available to play e-mail tag with someone for several rounds to arrange a time for pickup, then wait for someone to maybe stop by when he or she happens to get there and take the item. Far more work than just shipping, for most items.

·11 months agoAbsolutely. Local pick-up is a big hassle. For most items it involves more work and time than just shipping. I'm very careful about what items I offer that on. Most people who think they're saving money by picking up aren't properly figuring their cost of driving to and from, also.

OP11 months agoDefinitely, especially in a big city like ours that is very disconnected. Its like an hour to just get anywhere then you have to wait for them if they are stuck in traffic. One time lost 4 hours on some pickup. Time is money.
Do you show a fee on local pickup? Perhaps we should take it off on some items, that's probably the solution to my question, because I think I added the fee to the business policies but it still shows as "Free Pickup"

OP11 months agoYea, trying to figure out why it won't register the pickup fee in the listing? Strange. What is a collection fee? Is that the same thing?

OP11 months agoWe are not set up to do local pickups. Requires added time for us to meet with someone or have an employee meet them. We try to avoid local pickups but we do offer it for people that need it the same day. We are set up to ship everything but offer it on bulky items or when people need it the same day. We are in a big city which is good and bad. lol
