Paying for eBay Standard Envelope with a credit card?
Is there currently a way to pay for eBay Standard Envelope (shipping sportscards with limited tracking for just 0.69 for 1 ounce) with a credit card?
Help files seem to imply you can pay with Paypal and put a card there, but that seems super outdated. I just want the dang reward points and it'll help pay for all the USPS lost envelopes or buyers claiming not received when USPS doesn't do a delivered scan. It appears eBay only allows the costs to be deducted from funds which means massive amounts of reward points aren't being earned!

I too love my CC cash back rewards.
The reason they may not allow paying for ESE with a CC is there are fees involved that have to be paid for by the merchant.
Since eBay is already offering a discounted service, it's possible with paying the CC fee they might lose money on the service. /shrugs

OP1 year agoI truly believe there HAS TO BE a way for us to print the same labels somewhere else and pay with a credit card, as they don't even say "eBay Standard Envelope" on them anymore. Unfortunately most of the USPS employees around here don't even understand what ESE is.. but I'm thinking maybe this is just "metered mail" or something similar. I can't imagine big time card sellers using eBay's shipping website instead of something like a ShipStation/ShipPirate program to ship hundreds/thousands of envelopes each day, but maybe I'm wrong.

·1 year agoThere's services like "letter-track" where you can print labels with IMB tracking. They are much more expensive than ESE with most charging the .73 letter rate plus up to $1 for the tracked IMB label. I'm sure massive sellers can get deals on such services though.
ETA These other services also AFIK don't offer insurance on them like eBay has, just the tracking.

Just because the ESE does not have the word "eBay" printed on it, does not mean that it is NOT an eBay-exclusive service: eBay contracted with Pitney-Bowes to purchase discounted USPS business metered mail, and this ESE service is thus ONLY available through eBay.
And most USPS employees will not be familiar with the term "eBay Standard Envelope" -- to them, it is just another form of contracted business metered mail, as used by millions of other businesses in the United States -- so nothing special.
You'd probably have to ask the "big time card sellers" what shipping method they may be using for cards valued below $20.00, if they are not currently using the ESE.

·1 year agoNo, there is not. Using eBay funds is the only option for eBay Standard Envelope (ESE), UPS, and FedEx here on eBay.
PayPal can only be used for USPS package services.
As for lost ESE envelopes, those have insurance coverage. File a claim here.
I agree about credit card rewards (cash back in my case).
