Packages seized by US Marshalls with EBay purchases postage saying there is no postage.
my post office is telling me that dropping off packages that are sure post can be dropped off a USPS ( they take sure post all day everyday!) which is combination carries like FedEx/USPS or UPS/USPS. eBay can’t make the rules how sure post work for ISPS per the USPS. However I have has 5 packages with sure post SEIZED by US Marshalls for having no postage. Postage was purchase via eBay. The post office has not received the funds for any packages. I saw the information for myself. All says $0.00. What do I do?

·1 year agoNever use FedEx. Too many shenanigans.
But if you must, you can drop them at any Walgreen's. They'll scan it in and you'll get a text showing receipt by them.

OP1 year agoActually I had fed ex y the dimensions and weight becuase this has happened before and it was spot on. And it was a pillow.
Pillows don’t weight 13 pounds.

·1 year agoThey also charge extra if the package is over a certain size and oddball packaging, tubes, and polymailers.

·1 year agoThere is dimensional weight & physical weight. They will charge you the greater amount.
Don't know if that's what happened here but a possibility?

·1 year agoIf you are shipping FedEx/USP, it has to be dropped off at FedEx/UPS not USPS. FedEx (or UPS) is who is doing primary shipping is received the payment not USPS. The contract between FedEx/UPS and USPS is that the first two are the primary carriers and USPS just makes the final delivery.
If you bought postage thru Sure Post, yes if the postage was paid to USPS as the only carrier, the items can be dropped at a post office, same with buying postage at the USPS website or over the counter at a Post Office or thru any other entity that acts as a USPS postage broker.

You absolutely CANNOT drop off FedEx Ground Economy at USPS. If you do, they go into the dumpster.
and, UPS has NO affiliation whatsoever with USPS as of January 1st, 2025.

if you buy a FedEx label, you have to drop the package off at FedEx.
USPS will no longer accept the packages and will discard them.
FedEx is the one that gets paid and they have to pay USPS.

Also today another Fed Ex package for a pillow was UPCHARGED by eBay adding 10 pounds and $35.

It helps to keep updated on things.
It was posted a few months ago that USPS will not take packages from FedEx anymore.

·1 year agoIt was FedEx that surcharged your shipment, probably for dimensional weight and eBay passed that bill along to you.

You shipped in a polymailer and were hit with an "additional handling" surcharge for nonstandard packaging because as long as your weight and dimensions are correct, any dimensional weight rate is factored in upfront.
Cost adjustment came from FedEx, not from eBay.
I suggest not using FedEx until you learn how it works as you're running into a lot of preventable issues. Here's the FedEx Service Guide - info on irregular packaging can be found on page 126.
