No tracking, but shipped out.
I’ve been selling on EBay for about a year now, and all of a sudden none of my orders (that have been sent out on time) are tracking. There has now been two requests of cancellation because it’s been over a month and they are not receiving their items, which I would understand is frustrating, but I can’t lose money and my item.
There is one order that this happened to, and all of a sudden it decided to update tracking after about 4 weeks and then the buyer said received like normal.
I’ve contacted support and they said to just change my form of shipping label to “Ground Saver UPS” instead of priority so I did that… but it’s still the same issue. I have 8 orders that are all not tracking it’s been weeks. What should I do? Is anyone else dealing with this? Thank you 🙂

·6 months agoIt sounds like you don't go into your post office and scan your packages, but just drop them off.
Check your post office. It could be short workers. Talk to the manager.
Also if you live in a city like I do, The USPO has APC where you can scan your packages.

In your origional post you stated that you were told to change my form of shipping label to “Ground Saver UPS” In post #9 you state that the lable you have been using is UPS Gound Saver. Which is it? Is that what you have been using or is that what you were told to use? UPS Ground Saver is what the method is called. Ground Saver UPS is apparantly what the rep called it, but there is no method that goes by that name.
Next, if you buy your shipping label from eBay, the tracking number is automatically uploaded. If you buy the label elsewhere; such as on PiraiteShip, you must upload the tracking number to eBay. You say you are buying the label through eBay, so the tracking number should be there.
Go to Seller Hub and click on Order>All Orders. What is the status of these orders that are missing? Do they stay "Shipped?"
It should look like this:
You should see a notation on the left side that says it was Shipped along with when the Carrier Scan was. That's when you dropped it off at UPS. Also, does it show the tracking number as it does in my image?
You do not want to take UPS Ground Saver packages to USPS. They are not supposed to accept them, and if they do, it can cause delays. UPS Ground Saver packages must be dropped up at UPS or at an authorized UPS access point. Are you going to a UPS store or UPS hub to drop off the package? Or, are you going to CVS or some other place?
If you are dropping off at UPS Hub or UPS Store, they should scan it there and offer you a receipt. If you drop it off at CVS or an access point, they may text you a receipt. Either way, you should have some proof you dropped off the package. Are you getting these receipts? If so, what do your receipts say?

OP6 months agoSo I did some more research, and it looks like the orders that ARE shipping and tracking normally are sent through USPS. And the orders that ARENT tracking are through UPS.
So im wondering if (since I drop them all off at once at ups) thats causing an issue or a mix up. What do you guys think?
My other question is, can I make a way that buyers are only allowed pick usps labels? Since that seems to be the one tracking lol

There is nothing eBay Support can do to find your missing packages.
That is an issue between you and your local post office.

·6 months agoIn the last few days, I watched a story on the news about a Fed-Ex delivery person
arrested. And a storage unit full of undelivered packages he had stashed away
was discovered. The news said $60,000.00 worth of packages.
A second story I read somewhere of a USPS delivery person doing the
exact same thing.
Nuff stuff gets stolen between point A and point B and one or 2
ebay buyers/sellers are going to get caught up in the problem.
And what about the weather? I had a package from Brookly NY
take 16 days via Ground advantage. Distance 629 miles

·6 months agoGround Saver UPS and Ground Advantage from the post office are 2 completely different things. Be sure you know what you are buying if you switch from Priority Mail.
Also, none of those mail choices are what's affecting your tracking. Somehow your items aren't getting uploaded into the ebay system or into the postal system.
You need to make sure the tracking info is added to each order in ebay (this automatically happens if you purchase the label from ebay), and if I were you, I'd take the packages to the post office to get them scanned in by a clerk (at least for now since you've been having problems).
Edited to add: I'd also recommend that once you get all the tracking info uploaded, you personally stay on top of it until it gets delivered. If your item isn't moving, open a Missing Mail Request after 7 days. If it can't be found, file a claim after 15 days (if using USPS). Of course, to do these things, the tracking has to have been accepted by the post office. (If you use the UPS or FedEx carriers, I'm not sure what their "lost" process is.)

·6 months agoThat is better than buyers filing item not received claims. I would go ahead and agree to cancel if the estimated delivery date has passed by more than a week.

·6 months agoAre you purchasing all your labels on eBay? Using the tracking numbers can you go to USPS.com and track? My first thought is you are buying your shipping labels off eBay and not uploading the tracking numbers to the items sold

OP6 months agoYes im purchasing them through ebay. I have a shipping business policy that is ups ground saver option.
I could just take them directly to USPS and drop them off there, but its essentially the same thing right?
Where am I suppose to upload the tracking numbers?

·6 months agoIf you are using UPS ground saver, you CANNOT drop packages at USPS or they'll be disposed of.
Only USPS labelled packages can be dropped at the post office.
I see that some of your shipping is USPS ground advantage and others are UPS ground saver.

·6 months agoAre you saying there is no movement scans with the carrier at all? Do they get an acceptance scan with the carrier? Are you using the same carrier for them all?

OP6 months agoNo movement with scans at all. I drop them off at UPS with the ups ground saver label. I believe usps then comes to pick it up.
