No more discounts on USPS shipping labels
Between September 21 and 28, eBay discounts on USPS shipping labels disappeared. Even though eBay falsely claims to be giving a discount, the same USPS label can be purchased from the USPS web site for exactly the same amount as eBay is charging.
For example, USPS Priority Mail® Padded Flat Rate Envelope costs $10.50 at Click-N-Ship on the USPS web site. The same USPS label offered by eBay costs $10.50, even though eBay falsely claims it is discounted.

·10 months agoWhy should eBay do better? eBay can only utilize the information you put into your shipping policies.
You do know that USPS increased their prices a couple weeks ago right?
Are you correctly measuring and weighing your package? What was the shipping service used? What is the item number of the listing in question?

·11 months agoPadded Flat Rate Envelope as of today is $11.95 retail / $10.50 commercial.
Last year USPS Click-N-Ship, which used to charge retail rates, started charging commercial rates.
eBay has lower discounted rates which means on eBay you will see the standard $10.50 commercial discount to lesser populated zip codes, and deeper discounted $9.60 to more densely populated zip codes.
On Sunday (Oct 5) @kentj340 USPS holiday surcharges will go into effect, so you should expect to see changes.

·11 months agoYour assumption is faulty.
Well, it isn't that eBay is NOT offering a discount anymore so much as it is that the post office IS now offering an online discount which they used to do years ago and then stopped. So now they have re instituted the online discounts.
The fact that the post office (and everyone else) is now offering the same discount as eBay does not mean that eBay is not offering a discount.

·11 months agoBuyers don't see the discount, nor do you if you look at the listings. What are you seeing in your sellers breakdown page?

·11 months agoeBay tells me it'll cost $9.60 and I'm saving 19% off the retail of $11.95..

·11 months agothat's odd....I am not doubting you, but I compare each order (ebay and pirateship) for the best rates with the same configurations. oddly, ebay was slightly cheaper on 1 ground advantage order for some reason, but otherwise they were mostly identical. It was only about 14 orders, so maybe thats not a big enough sample for an educated comparison. I did not note whether USPS website was higher or lower, but, now, out of curiousity, I gotta check. LOL
clarification needed: Is this what is displayed to the buyer on the listing, or what you paid after the sale?

·11 months agoThe USPS website offers discounted rates vs buying at the counter, but usually ebay's rates are cheaper. So far my shipping today is less than the website amount.
