No Carrier Scan
An item shows tracking uploaded on time but no carrier scan. When I looked at the tracking there was an initial carrier scan within a few hours of printing the label and a second scan at the next postal hub a few hours after that. (All within the alloted shipping time) Contacted ebay and the rep said that it would have to be referred to someone else. She tried to connect me but said that person was not available at that time. The appropriate person would have to call me back, sometime in the next 24 hours. This should be an easy fix???

·3 years agoI see that happen sometimes and it usually drops off on its own @carne.kay . I can't remember how frequently but it's generally by the 20th when eBay does monthly evals. On what date was the package delivered?

OP3 years agoI called ebay and they were able to see the error and fix it. Good to know that sometimes these things drop off on their own.

·3 years agoIf the tracking is showing a scan from the PO you’re good. Even if the tracking didn’t show the initial scan right away it usually shows up when scanned at the next hub and will update. I’m not sure what good it is to contact eBay about a postal issue, eBay has no control over the post office.

OP3 years agoThe post office did their job. They scanned the item at every stop. The tracking number showed all of the scans, but ebay dinged me saying it was not scanned. For some reason ebay's system did not see the scans. I called ebay and they were able to see that their system was wrong and they removed the mark against me. They have gotten better at fixing issues lately.

OP2 years agoMy post office now scans every item in front of me. They did say that their scanner is old. About a month ago the clerk scanned the boxes in front of me and one of them never showed the initial scan, which made it look like I shipped late. The postal clerk said the scanner is old and it does that sometimes. It is not ebays fault but it is not mine either. I just don't want ebay to count it against me if their scanner is old and does not work right.

·1 year agoMy post office simply told me to leave the mail, no scan or receipts for normal mail. eBay tracking could not be considered accepted if Post office wont scan even if i bring them in in-person.

·3 years agoI see odd tracking stuff all the time, it eventually fixes itself without any issues after a day or two.

·3 years agoSave your dime and time.....
more than once I would have an origination scan here at my local, and then days would go by with "On Time to Destination" or something like that daily on the tracking page.
The last and only travel scan was "Delivered"
seen it more than once....don't panic....
(I will say recently has been much better, to a point of redundancy with too many scans, than a few years ago)

·3 years agoIf you got 1 scan within your alloted shipping time, there is nothing to worry about. Not every item gets scanned at each hub. Some do not get a scan until they are about to be delivered. Calling someone will not solve anything. You are fine. Watching boxes crawl across the country will drive you nuts. I do not watch my items whether I'm the seller or the buyer unless a buyer makes an inquiry. Every item that I have bought in the last few years have arrived. I ship immediately and I am blessed with a post office that scans everything.

OP3 years agoEven though we have a one man post office, they do a great job. They scanned it and it was scanned again later that day at the next stop. The problem was with ebay's system showing it was not scanned when it was. If ebay had not put a ding against me I never would have checked. I called and ebay did fix the issue. They have gotten better at fixing things.
