Newbie needing insurance and label help please!
Hi! This is literally my second sale and I’m confused. I meant to insure my item for over $100 but clicked the back button on my phone just to review things before I went ahead and added extra insurance and when I did it created the label AND said I had already shipped it! Then I printed the label anyway like an idiot. I see I can cancel a label and get another one but frankly I’m scared to death it will cause a glitch because it says it already shipped when it hasn’t. I’ve had so many problems managing simple listings I’m already gun shy to do anything and dealing with AI has been a nightmare. If I cancel this label, could it cause a cascading issue like my other minor changes have? I have one listing I can’t promote and two I can’t send offers to viewers and one has been in someone’s cart for 2 days-I think! I have no idea why not or what I did wrong there and frankly I’m probably going to remove them because it’s just not worth the agony to have a new eBay obstacle to figure out every other day. AI repeating back what’s already printed is just too frustrating.
The item I’m asking about isn’t that much over $100, and given eBay has restricted 2 listings for some reason I’m afraid if I cancel and try to make a new label to insure the difference the system might go haywire since it shows I already shipped it. I just checked my Seller tab and all my listings have somehow reset to 0 views and 0 saves, even though when I click on them one has saves but zero views and one says it’s in someone’s cart! 😆 Both had 20-ish views just 5 hours ago.
Even if I decide selling on eBay isn’t for me, I don’t want to get kicked off entirely. I’ve been a buyer for 11 years. Can someone advise me here? It’s not worth it to me to lose my buying account over $60 if the package is lost, at the same time I shouldn’t have to risk it. Is there a better option or way to get acknowledgment from eBay about all these issues so I’m not afraid to sell here?
Thank you in advance for any advice!

You can cancel the label without any issues. It will take a few weeks to get refunded. If you buy a new label, that money will also come out of your eBay funds or be charged to your account on file if you do not have sufficent funds in your account. If the item is truly just a little over the $100 value, it may not be worth the headache. Without me being able to see what you've sold and how much shipping might be, you'll have to make that determination for yourself. It is not mandatory you buy extra insurance. Just understand if something happens to the package and the carrier is at fault, you will only have $100 of insurance on it. Personally, unless the item sold for at least $200, I generally do not buy the extra insurance. That's a risk I've determined is worth taking.
When you buy your label on eBay, eBay automatically updates the order with the tracking number. When that happens, eBay marks the item as shipped. It does not mean you've handed it to the carrier. When you hand it to the carrier, make sure they scan it in front of you. That's the only way to ensure you get an acceptance scan which is what proves you gave the package to the carrier. Although the carrier should scan the package accepted eventually, sometimes it doesn't happen and that can cause problems. Since you are new and already struggling with some things, I strongly advise you physically give the package to the carrier and have them scan it. If you are using USPS, take it to your post office and give it to a postal clerk at the counter. If they ask if you are dropping off only, let them know you need a receipt.
As far as number of views and items being in people's carts, don't focus on all of that. You'll drive yourself crazy. Views are not buyers. It just means people are finding your item and looking at it. Sometimes it is even other sellers. A lot "watchers" you get will be other sellers. They will never buy your item, but they are watching to see if yours sells and at what price point. Also, people will add things to their cart all the time, but they never buy. Sometimes eBay will allow you to send out offers. It's probably a good idea to do that. Sometimes a 10% offer can get motivate someone who looked or who put it in their cart to buy. Most of the time it doesn't. I can send out offers on 50 items and I might be able to get one sale out of it, and normally it is already on something I've discounted.
You said eBay restricted two listings. If you care to share more about that, you are welcome to post some details and tag me in the post using the @ symbol followed by my user name. Definitely do not relist anything they have taken off.
