New Shipping Policy fill in format is a DISASTER ~ eBay moderator please read / help
Not sure who has yet dealt with this but the new format / area where you fill in shipping costs is a disaster. It is extra time consuming and also fairly confusing, especially for a seller that sells different weighted packages. Please go back to the prior format PLEASE

·3 years agoMaybe this is what OP means? Today I tried to list an item that is less than a pound, but when I choose calculated shipping it gives the price to buyer a cost that's equal to priority mail rate and it says underneath: Max. 1 lb, 22 x 18 x 15 in. Buyer pays $9.35 - $12.55.
I have never seen a first class package under a pound cost that much! I can use another calculator & charge a flat rate (I usually do). But I use the calculated shipping to pick a fair flat rate.
This seems like a big glitch!
I have tried:
- switching back and forth between calculated and flat.
- removing all shipping options and re-choosing first class.
- saving the listing as a draft and opening it back up.
Is it just me???

·3 years agoActually I checked another site and the retail price might be right. I don't understand the dimension note not matching what I entered, but maybe I should pipe down. Too late to delete my reply, sorry.

·3 years agoThat's the price range for a 1-pound package via Priority Mail.
The eBay shipping calculator defaults to show retail pricing. For retail First Class packages, the weight limit is 13 ounces. So if there's a weight that's not over 1 pound but IS over 13 ounces, the shipping calculator will do what the clerk at the PO counter would do: Upgrade to Priority rates.
The shipping calculator should work correctly if you enter the weight in ounces. For weights over 13 ounces, you can either (1) adjust your site preferences so the shipping calculator shows the online rate which has a weight limit of 15.99 ounces; or (2) just enter a weight of 13 ounces, since the current prices for First Class are in 4-ounce increments.

·3 years agoAre you saying that you normally fill in shipping info in each listing but now ebay is asking you to set up different shipping policies? If so, you can opt out of business policies as they aren't required. I wish ebay wouldn't opt people in without asking.
