New issue with freight forwarder in Portland , OR - missing parcels
I love all my overseas customer, but the Portland freight forwarding office on Airport Way and the PO within their jurisdiction are giving me many issues this year.
The first issue has been discussed already - the 'delivered to agent for final delivery.'not showing as a delivery... Seems to be underway for resolution albeit still clunky.
The more important next issue is I am on my 5th "lost" item to this address in 3 months where the parcel hits the local Portland PO and then goes missing. Either 1. its not getting scanned delivered (or waiting for pickup..) but IS delivered of course customers who are dishonest can file a claim or 2. They ARE going missing at the local Portland PO.
Is anyone else having this problem? I have complained to that office and it seems to continue, how do I get to a higher -up. Everytime I send something there I dread it.

·3 years agoI make sure to ship via UPS to the FF's. If the item has any significant value, I add a Sig required.
The FF's do less monkey-business the UPS drivers.
I too have seen some questionable non-deliveries by USPS to FF's in Miami. The package ends up back at a Miami USPS distribution center and then never sees another scan. Poof!!

OP3 years agoThank you for this feedback! I just sent one via UPS yesterday to the airport way black hole again. Appreciate this tip. I need to research the small parcel rates with them, many of my sales are like 2 oz ....
I will just have to do this moving forward with this location until it gets sorted. I just had another one this morning still stuck at USPS "arrival at unit" for days and days.

·2 years agoI also have this problem as well it arrived at the po then no scans for weeks. I reached out to the post office and filed a claim and missing mail. They called me back the same day and said this has been happing a lot at this location and most likely the item is delivered but for some magical reason never got a delivered scan. I reached out to one customer and asked if he knows that the FF has received it.. but we’ll see how this turns out

OP3 years agoThanks, but this is a different issue of no scan of even "delivered to final agent." it just says ARRIVAL AT UNIT and then NOTHING for weeks
