Missing Shipment USPS
I apologize in advance, as I'm sure this has been covered extensively. I'm a fairly new seller, and I couldn't figure out where to search for a topic.
I have a missing shipment. It has not tracked since Dec 21. It was a Christmas present, and my customer is understandably upset. I cannot file a missing mail claim because it was shipping Ground Advantage. I already gave the customer a shipping refund. I asked her to wait and see if tracking started up again, it hasn't as of yet. It just says "arriving late". 🙄
It's looking like a full refund is looming.
Did I deal with the situation correctly?

·1 year agoYes, this happens more than you think. Shipments stop being scanned. It can still be moving and not scanned.
I had a package delivered and could still go to USPS and it said “in transitâ€.
Nice of you to refund the shipping.
I have still done the missing mail thing with ground advantage shipped package. One, I never heard back. The other, a postmaster in the town it was being delivered to called me! Said she tracked it to post office in Indianapolis and it should get to her in the next 48 hours! Dang! Small town postmaster was on it! It was delivered to customer the next day, and she called again to make sure everything was okay.
It feels like you need to do something, but you don’t. eBay has your back. If you scanned it and sent it, then it’s now covered by eBay in that the customer can be patient and wait, and if it isn’t received, they’ll fill out the complaint for not received. eBay will make your customer whole.

·1 year agoHave the buyer file a INR, then upload the tracking number to the case.
Depending on tracking, they might put the case on hold a couple days before having to refund.

·1 year agoIt might have been delivered but not scanned as 'delivered'...thus the 'arriving late'
I have a lot of those trackings showing 'arriving late' but buyers received your packages with positive feedback.
