Missing package from post office
I’m a new seller on eBay so I’m not sure how to proceed. I was going through my orders and noticed that one item I dropped off at the post office never scanned in and hasn’t started tracking. I dropped off 5 separate orders that day (over a week ago) and everything else tracked normally and was delivered except this one. All usps ground shipping. I messaged the buyer and let her know there is an issue but haven’t heard anything back. I’m going to the post office Monday morning to see if maybe it got lost in the back but if they can’t find it, I’m not quite sure how to proceed. Any guidance is really appreciated!

·1 year agoYou can go to usps.com and file a missing mail case report. I have had good luck with them finding packages.

·1 year agoMake sure to check USPS tracking from their website and don't rely solely on eBay tracking. They do not always match. You can try to open a find my missing mail case but not sure how that works with no acceptance scan.
If you didn't get a scan receipt that was not a wise decision. Getting a scan receipt ensures your packages get scanned as well as prevent you from getting defects for not validating your tracking and late shipping. Hopefully you don't have a short handling time like 1-2 days.
Have you checked tracking on USPS website? Sometimes tracking shows movement there and not on eBay.
The worst thing to do is message the buyer, it's like poking a sleeping bear, now your buyer is alerted, even though the buyer hasn't responded, it doesn't mean they didn't see your message.
I have seen packages not get a scan until it gets delivered. If not, you will be refunding your buyer in full.
From now on get a scan receipt, don't just drop off packages. You'll be glad you did.
