Missing mail search
First time I've had to do one of these and not sure what to expect.
Shipped package out just as the snow started on 2/23, still made it to Brooklyn 2/26 (the buyers location). Where it sat getting midnight "in transit" scans. Day 3 of this anxious buyer messages, I reply with snowstorm, delays blah blah. Another day of sitting another anxious message, so I file a MMS the next morning 3/3, get confirmation email and tracking updates to show the search initiated. Buyer sends "thanks, hope that does it" message and hasn't been heard from since.?.
The next day the eBay tracking updated to "package research case closed" Brooklyn. The USPS site still has the last update as "search initiated".
I'm curious as to how the process should go. But my main question would be if they found it and sent on to buyer, would the tracking update? I'm baffled why I haven't heard from the buyer. $800+ order w/ signature required BTW.

·5 months agoI have had the same experience as @simba6 - when found, tracking resumes.

·5 months agoI have had good luck with them finding my packages. Yes, if it's found and delivered. tracking will start up again. eBay and shippers have all said to expect delays due to weather. Could be your buyer is just sitting tight for now.
Lost in transit packages are very rare. So, there is hope.
