Media mail eligibility: have already exhausted all resources
Can a CD booklet- without the CD or jewel case- ship media mail? I've selected "other music memorabilia" for the category & ebay has defaulted shipping to media mail but I don't see how it would qualify? Though I suppose I could just include a random disc for eligibility but this is bugging me. Has anyone shipped a CD booklet by itself via media mail?

·10 months agoWith the new significant increases in GA shipping, the new remote zip code surcharges and current holiday surcharge, media mail will be the cheapest option in almost all cases (especially if shipped with any kind of cardboard or reinforcement that pushes it over 4oz). Media mail is exempt from the zip code and current holiday surcharges.
The real cheapest option would be to mail it in a regular letter, it is small enough to be mailed at first class letter rates (they are 6" tall, just under the maximum height for regular letter mail). If it is a low value item, it might be worth the risk to send it in a regular letter envelope without tracking. (CD booklets and cassette j-cards are great examples of items that eBay should explicitly allow for eBay standard envelope.)
If it is the Sublime booklet, personally I'd just mail it as a regular letter given it is only worth $7. Regular letter rate would enable you to lower the total cost to a buyer a bit and make it sell easier.

·10 months agoThe Deftones CD booklet does not qualify as Media Mail @clllayton645 . If it sells, ship it Ground Adv. Looks like you already got your listing updated to Ground Adv so you should be all set.

As long as the CD booklet contains no advertising, and is at least 8 pages in length, it seems to fall within the definition of what USPS refers to as "Media."
But -- if it is lightweight -- won't it be cheaper to ship at Ground Advantage rates, rather than $4.47 USPS Media rates?

Have you spent more of your own time in money than you would save on this?

·10 months agoWhat is the value of this booklet? Keep in mind there might not be a huge price difference in media mail and ground advantage on a booklet.

·10 months agoIf it's a booklet and has no ads in it, it should be ok to go. No, adding an item like a cd that can go will not allow an item that can't to be included. All items have to be allowed.
