Looking for info on how to make USPS lost mail claims
Hello all i am looking for info on how i am to make claims on lost mail/packages shipped via USPS.
i know where to find the claim on the USPS website but my issue is that to start the claim you have to enter the tracking number but USPS doesnt recognize the Ebay standard shipping envelope tracking numbers , the one that begin with (ESUS) so i cant continue the claim . Ebay says there are all covered up to $100 but i cant find answers or help in making any claims on these items. any help would be much appreciated . thank you

·9 months agoFor items shipped via eBay standard envelope (with "ESUS" tracking numbers), you do not file claims through the USPS website. USPS treats these as regular metered mail, and their standard insurance does not cover them.
Instead, you must file your claim through eBay’s third-party insurance partner, Parcel Insurance Plan (PIP).
Filing Your Claim
Wait Period: For lost items, you must wait at least 30 days from the date the shipping label was created before filing.
Deadline: You must file the claim within 90 days of creating the shipping label.
Process:
Go to your Shipping Labels in eBay Seller Hub or My eBay.
Find the specific label for the lost item.
Select Create claim under the "More actions" dropdown menu.
Alternatively, you can go directly to the PIP Claim Portal.
Required Information
You will need to provide the following documentation during the process:
The ESUS tracking number.
A screenshot of the eBay Order Details.
A screenshot of the buyer's complaint message or the "Item Not Received" dispute details.
Claim Coverage & Reimbursement
Limits: Coverage is up to $20 for a single item and up to $50 for combined orders.
Payment: Approved claims are typically paid to your account within 7 to 10 business days after all documentation is submitted.

Insurance claims for the eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) are made through eBay, and not USPS -- read https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/ebay-standard-envelope?id=5308#section6
The ESE is to be used only for a few categories, and is not for use for items exceeding $20.00, or multiple permitted items less than $20.00 each, but not exceeding $50.00.

·9 months agoGo to the USPO site and look for the Missing Mail topic. You can take it from there.

·9 months agoIf it was a ESE shipment, you don't file a claim through USPS.
You file through Ebay.
Not sure of the link, but you can find it in the ESE information.

·9 months agoThat 'envelope' is ONLY covered up to $20; NOT $100.
How to file?? Google is your friend.
