Local Pickup item shipped along with another order. Buyer doesn't respond with 6 digit code.
Summary: partymix shipped an item meant for local pickup along with another order, but it remains in 'Awaiting shipment' status due to the lack of a pickup code from the buyer. arijitmandal explained that the order can only be closed with the buyer's pickup code and advised keeping communication proof for eBay support if the buyer remains unresponsive. They also suggested contacting eBay support, though partymix struggled to find a way to reach them beyond AI chat. Another participant, eoma689485, pointed out that the buyer might not send the code until they confirm receipt of the item.
A buyer purchased an item from me that had shipping charges. And later purchased another item I listed with Local Pickup.
However, instead of picking up the 2nd order, I simply shipped it along with the 1st order.
As a result, the 2nd item still shows up in the 'Awaiting shipment' column of my Orders page.
I've messaged the buyer a couple of times for the 6 digit 'Pickup Code' for the 2nd item but he doesn't respond.
How do I get rid of the 2nd order's 'Awaiting shipment' status?
TIA

·4 days agoA local pickup order can only be completed one way: with the buyer's pickup code.
For proof of pickup eBay gives the buyer a QR code and a 6-digit code by email, and the code also shows in their Purchase history in the app. You either scan the QR code or type the 6-digit code into the order, and that is what moves it out of Awaiting shipment and marks it delivered.
So for this order:
Ask the buyer for the 6-digit code. They have it; it is the same code they would have handed over at collection.
Enter it in My eBay or Seller Hub. The order closes and the item shows as picked up.
Keep the message asking for it. If the buyer never answers, that message is your record when you ask eBay to close the order.
Shipping a local pickup item is what created the dead end, because the normal completion step needs the buyer. If they stay silent, eBay support can close it, but only with the order details in your message.

Did the buyer pay for the second item separately, or is it on the same order as the shipped one?

OP4 days agoYes, they were paid for separately.
How do I ask eBay to 'Close the Order'?
I can't seem to find ANY way to communicate with them.
It's all AI chat.

If not, they are not going to send you the code until they do.
