Late Shipping Protections - Wildfires

Will there be eBay seller protections for those with hazardous air conditions due to the Canadian wildfires that have been hitting various parts of the US this week?

A few different sellers asked me and I told them that in my experience eBay will cover you when there's widespread news coverage of a natural disaster or weather event, just work with CS if there's no eBay announcement.

But one of those sellers contacted CS and was told it depends what other sellers in their area are doing - implying if others near them are shipping, they would also be expected to ship. CS rep emphasized to put safety first, but did not guarantee late shipping protections.

In the past eBay has granted protections for sellers dealing with wildfires. Can we get an official word on this @kyle@ebay @devon@ebay ? I want to give accurate advice to others asking me about this.

Some regions have been hit pretty hard. It looks like they're living in a post-apocalyptic world.

Not to make light of a serious situation, but sometimes you need a little comic relied.

What is going to happen to all those sellers who say "Shipped from a non-smoking home".?

The FAA put a 'slowdown' on flights from Nashville north due to either no visibility or little visibility. I am sure this will also affect delivery times - for all carriers.

Lots of flights were delayed or cancelled today in the NY area. That is bound to slow down shipping.

Hey @wastingtime101! First let me just say, I hope all sellers impacted by the hazardous conditions are staying safe. Typically when there is a shipping problem due to extreme weather, we will put an announcement on our announcement pages to let our sellers know that they are covered and don't need to do anything else. Our shipping team is aware of the situation and we anticipate more information that can be shared coming soon.
