Late Shipping Affecting My Ratings
I have a buyer who purchased an item Thurs. evening (10/14) and he requested I delay shipping until after the close of an auction of another of my items (Sunday night 10/17). He is interested in bidding on this item. He wants to combine the two items in one package, should he be successful in the Sunday night auction. I agreed to this. However, I have set up my shipping policy to ship within one day of sale. I "should have" shipped out the Thursday night item on Friday, but now it is marked as Late. Will this affect my ratings?....It is not fair if I'm penalized, because it was buyer's idea to delay shipping the first item, not my idea.

·3 years agoI'm really stressed out because I have 14 packages sitting on my porch and it's 5 PM so I don't think my postman is picking them up even though I did a package pick up request.
I called my local Post Office at least 10 times the last hour and they won't answer. I just also spent 45 minutes on hold with the regular USPS number and all they did was file some sort of service report that takes a few days for my local branch to get back to me.
So is it true that it's not going to ding me if these packages mail out a day late but actually arrive on time? Maybe I'm stressing out too much for no reason.
Ironically I have $20 bill here that I planned on tipping him as a Holiday gift when he picked up my packages today as a thank you for all the pick ups he usually does from my mailbox daily. I feel like I somehow Jinxed myself.

·3 years agoI know this is old but the other responses are not correct anymore and this is first google result for similar problems. If you receive a request to delay shipping in the future and receive a defect for doing so. You can contact ebay support and they will remove the defect if they can see the late shipping was requested by the buyer in a message.
