Late shipment defect that was denied in my appeal. I have documentation from USPS but cant upload it
I have two Late shipment defects that I appealed and was denied. I have documentation from USPS and an email sent to me that the packages were pick up. The tracking didn't update until 4 days later until my packages got scanned in Aurora Co, 80018. I live in New Hampshire. So the packages traveled across the Country. That being said the proof is in the tracking that the items where pick up on time. I spoke to the Postal Master. He said your items were pick up by us the next day and that the carrier scanned his paper work for the pick-up but not the actual packages. I have proof but there's wasn't anyway to upload the documentation during my appeal. Now the appeal is been denied and states final decision. I tried contacting eBay but cannot get through. What do I do now ? Who can help?

·6 months agoMy understanding when 'packages are picked up'....there might not be a scan on that day anymore depending where it is being picked up in the USA...and if it's a Friday...guess that would be 4 days until a scan 'might' happen. And Saturdays are like half-days in my city...where a scan might not even happen.

·6 months agoI had the same issue last Christmas, packages are picked up and not scanned until in transit. I caught 2 defects for that. Those defects fell off this Christmas. I extended my handling time to 6 days and it has helped tremendously.
In order to not get a late shipping defects, you must have uploaded tracking and have it validated within your handling time. The postal carrier plucking your packages out of the mailbox and not scanning is not uncommon, if they are a fill in for the regular carrier they may not be required to scan at pick up.
Perhaps extending your handling time will help you in the future.
If your appeals are denied, 2 defects won’t hurt you if you don’t have any others, and will fall off in 12 months.

Did you put a SCAN form in your mailbox for the carrier to scan? That is the only "paperwork" a carrier would scan other than the label on the package.
eBay does not accept SCAN form sheet scans as having met your handling time. You have to have an acceptance scan, and the only way to get that is for the carrier to scan the barcode on the label. That is what tells eBay that you shipped that package. USPS cannot even go by the SCAN form sheet to know if you shipped a specific package.
If a SCAN form was not involved, then what "paperwork" are you talking about?

OP6 months agoHi Chrisworks, Thanks for the reply.
I Scheduled a package pickup. Once your packages are pick up from USPS postal carrier a automatic email is sent to my email stating we successfully pick up your packages. This is the documentation I have. I noticed that my tracking never updated the next day. Tracking did not update until several days later. I spoke to the Postal Master. He stated the carriers get prints out every morning for any packages to be pick up. On the carrier paper work is a scan bar. The carrier can scan the pick up paper work and it will intimated that your packages were pick up and email sent... But if the carrier doesn't scan the packages themselves the tracking doesn't get initiated until it gets scanned. Even though the postal office has your packages they might not get scanned until received in a different distribution center / hub. According to the Postal Master the packages need to be scan to initiated tracking and the carrier supposed to be scanning the packages and scanned the pick-up paperwork sheet, Its a two step process. The proof I have . USPS Carrier receipt - that packages were pick up and on time and in USPS possession/control. The tracking updated several days later at a different Postal Hub where they got scanned, How did my packages get there ? I wouldn't fly across the country to give my packages to the nearest distribution center. I always ship next day shipping. Once the postal service have my packages there is little I can do. I can also get a written statement from the Post Master as to what happen. But I believe I wouldn't need any more proof than what I have.
