known scam address
I am selling a laptop I really don't want to deal with the hassle of getting scammed, so I already got paid and since I am a new seller eBay is holding my funds, and I am supposed to ship it to the address: 3601 Old Capitol Trail A-7 in Wilmington DE, and this is a known scam address Can someone please help me?

·2 years agoI just sold and shipped a used iPhone which was, honestly, in great condition to this exact address. Buyer says the screen is scratched. We’ll have to see if they try to negotiate or want to ship it back. I ended up googling their address and found this page.

·2 years agoHello, I am glad I came across your post, I just started reselling on eBay after several years I really hate using their services. They are never in favor for the seller and as a seller I’ve been screwed by them many times they do not have your back I recently listed Apple AirPods, and noticed as soon as I listed them within seconds, these same people that you are writing about repeatedly started bidding on my items which were only the Apple iPods. What raised the red flag is that they said they were from Armenia and Russia and then I looked at the addresses and they were all similar and all the phone numbers were different and gave a weird announcement when I called them. It was the same address at old capital, the buyer stated that it’s a warehouse and there are many people that get shipments there .I too was worried that they were going to say they never received the item then request their money back and of course Ebay would give it to them. I think you so very much for posting this as Ebay was beginning to make me think I was crazy because they have not helped me at all I even received a negative feedback from one of these scam artist because I called them out on this.

Many overseas buyers use Freight Forwarders to deal with reshipping , to reduce their shipping costs, and to handle customs and import fees.
Not a problem.

·2 years agoI just sold something yesterday and I had that same address given to me. I contacted the buyer and said I need their address because I will not ship to a forwarding location, third party, and referenced the buyer seller agreement and told them that it is not covered.

International buyers use freight forwarders all the time.
What "buyer agreement" would you reference that tells you that freight forwarders are "not covered"?
All the seller has to do is ship to the address given for the buyer at the FF. Once the package arrives there, your responsibility as a seller is ended.
Respectfully, you probably shouldn't be disseminating misleading information.

Forwarded shipments are not covered by the Money Back Guarantee but this works in favour of the Seller not the buyer.
The delivery to the forwarder ends the Item Not Received part of the MBG.
The Not As Described is trickier,but the Seller only has to supply a shipping label from the Forwarder's US address. It's up to the overseas Buyer to get the disputed purchase to the Forwarders and persuade/pay them to use it before the deadline for return passes.
Which makes a Freight Forwarder the second safest address to ship to, just after PO boxes and well ahead of someone's front porch. And most forwarders take care of import fees before the buyer gets the package so that's another scam that is circumvented.

It's a freight forwarder. You need to read about freight forwarders.
Many are located in Delaware because there is no state sales tax there.

Let me repeat, briefly, here: The OP was concerned about a shipping address for a buyer. Multiple responders here replied and explained to him what freight forwarders are.
There are many international buyers who use freight forwarders because there are sellers who do not ship internationally.
Once the item has arrived at the address of the FF, the buyer is off the hook for any claims of NAD or INR.

·2 years agoI know this is old but every time I come across these posts about freight forwarders out of Delaware I’m hearing it’s because Delaware doesn’t charge sales tax’s. I believe it’s more the fact Delaware has the highest population of Ukrainian and Russians in the United States. For the most part it’s safe. What you do have to watch for is selling to a private address in Delaware with a Russian or Ukrainian name at the same time selling to someone using freight forwarding. I’ve had someone try to scam me by telling me they received the wrong item and they only lived 10 miles from the shipping company I shipped the item he said he got. I tide it all down to him switching the item with maybe someone who worked there. I asked him to file a claim to send it back. He never did because he knew eBay would catch his scam. Instead he did a draw back with his financial institution and eBay handled it. I wasn’t liable since he went through the back door to get his money and never filed a claim. For the most part yes it’s safe to sell and ship to these places. Not everyone’s a crook but be vigilant and watch your every sale in Delaware because unfortunately there are crooks out there.

·2 years agoI hope this worked out for you as I just went though a real nightmare shipping to a buyer at this address. I, too, got paid for a phone and shipped it off. I had confirmation that the item had been delivered by the USPS but the buyer continually claimed (falsely) that the item was delivered to the wrong address and had ebay freeze my payment. It wasn't until I was able to get my local Post Master to provide four pages of definitive proof the package was delivered to the listed address that the buyer ultimately backed off. But, even then, it took me three messages, each containing the documentation, to persuade the buyer I wasn't backing off. What a scam nightmare.

·2 years agoI currently have a buyer from the same address. I printed label and it goes out today. Hmmm this is too weird I just happened to Google the address since I thought it looked strange and this forum came up. Guess we will see what happens. Item is under $30. Surprised eBay froze your payment since tracking showed it as delivered correct Andrewbrooklyn?

·2 years agoYou don't "have a buyer from the same address".
What you have is a buyer who uses a freight forwarder in the United States.
Your package will be delivered to the FF address. Once there's tracking showing delivery, you are off the hook for any issues the buyer may have.

·2 years agoIt doesn’t matter if the item shows that it was delivered the buyer could always say that the item that they purchased was not the same item in the box. Ebay will never be on the seller side, and in my experience as a buyer and a seller I have gotten screwed royally. I am just so desperate to sell these items that I have that is why I am getting ripped off by Ebay with their fees and dealing with scam artist. This is definitely a scam artist and they have several buyer bitter names all with tons of feedback, all of this is a relevant. Good luck to you if I was you, I would return the money and not send the item out.

Now -- if the GSP is not involved, but the buyer uses a freight forwarder, does the seller provide Return Shipping from the forwarding address or from the buyer's address?
Oooh this is a good clarification question @femmefan1946! A seller is only required to provide return shipping from the buyer's input address at time of checkout - that goes for any return where a seller provides shipping ('free' returns, etc).

GSP isn't considered a 'freight forwarder' as much as a shipping service a Seller can avail themselves of.
On a GSP transaction the address input by the Buyer at checkout is their address at the final destination. The Erlanger address is inserted into the transaction for the Seller. This means for Not as Described return requests a Seller would still be responsible for return shipping from the final delivery address*.

Note that the GSP program has been phased out and replaced by the eIS/eISD programs. However, I understand that the delivery address (in Illinois) remains the only address that the seller needs to provide return shipping for.
AND.
Even if a seller has a No Returns policy, they are allowed to demand the return of the disputed item before refunding.

Looks like probably a freight forwarder to me, since it's in Delaware. There is no state sales tax in Delaware; therefore, there are several freight forwarders located there.
And, actually, legitimate freight forwarders are one of the safest addresses for shipping.
Why? Because all the seller has to do is get the package to the FF and the FF personnel send it on from there.
